As of today, debt levels reached that of our entire GDP. Only a progressive can think that a good thing. Our entire economy is going into the sh!tter because of progressive ideals. The time of the advances of progressive idea's is in its twilight because soon, theres going to be no more of other peoples money to spend.........so its kinda like a ticking time bomb because politically, progressives are going to be left caught holding the bag on economic disaster.


Its like this.............its like the husband and wife who marry and the wife is a bonafide golddigger. Life is good.........all things are swell, but wifey ( the progressive) keeps racking up huge credit card debt. Job starts going south for the husband and they suddenly realize they are up to their eyes in debt and not alot of revenue coming in. House goes into foreclosure due to the impossible #'s with income to debt ratio's............all due to the bigass spending wifey ( progressive). Wifey gets her ass thrown out and crawls back to Bumfook.

There is a 100% certainty that America is STILL a center-right nation............its just that lots of folks in the center have been bamboozled with progressive idea's because its never really impacted them monetarily. But thats all changing now and the wake-up call is going to be harsh as sh!t..........like most people alive in America today have never known. And asshole politicians like Harry Reid will become like the dinosaurs, and the new breed of politician like Chris Christie in New Jersey will be viewed as a fcukking hero. Now..........we may see some riots in major US cities that make Newark in the 60's look like a Boy Scout weekend getaway...........but it's comin' s0n!!!!

The fact remains that the center has moved considerably towards the left over the past century which is an indication of the string of victories achieved by progressive liberalism over that time. Programs and concepts today that are accepted by the "center-right" majority of Americans started out being progressive-liberal programs that, once adopted, moved the "center" of the country leftward and now are widely accepted by conservatives. What conservative would run on a platform of repealing workplace safety laws, or child labor laws, or social security, or medicare, or minimum wage, or a 40 hour work week, or environmental protection, or product safety, or civil rights, or women's suffrage for that matter? What conservative who wanted to capture any percentage of the blue collar vote would call for the repeal of the Wagner Act? All of those issues were progressive liberal issues that have been incrementally endorsed by the "center" as America has moved inexorably toward the left. Again, the fact that "Keep your socialist hands off my medicare(socialized medicine)" is now a center right mantra, supports my claim and is cause for most liberals to be chuckling just like I am.

Simply stated, your post is nothing but your wild PREDICTIONS about the FUTURE failure of progressive liberalism. My post is an accurate accounting of the HISTORY of its continued and unabated success.

Avarice, bigotry, censorship and fear seem to me to best describe the Right in this first decade of the 21st Century. They eschew traditional values such as compassion and tolerance, charity and benevolence and I believe do so because they are so scared and/or greedy they have decided that the end really does justify the means.

Impassioned appeals to the emotions and prejudices of the populace is a tactic employed by many pols on the Right to obtain and maintain political power; the Right's scripted comments are repeated ad nauseau on AM radio and on one television network. The "Big Lie" is an effective propaganda tool for the Right, and opinions different from their own are stiffiled as unpatriotic or helpful to an enemy.

Censorship is the bane of the ideal we call democracy, and in any form it curtails critical thinking and fosters ignorance. As an enlightened society we should embrace diversity of opinion and listen (critically) to those with whom we disagree, as well as to those with whom we generally agree.

These opinions do not mean I embrace Liberalism, a term no longer easily defined; what I do is reject the way and manner of the new right, which has taken the popularity of the idea of what a conservative is and perverted it into a mob of petty and self righteous jerks, such as those who dominate this message board and echo each others lies, half-truths, rumors and prejudices.
