WHY Do They Want Our GUNS?

It also means, if something happens you don't like, it isn't "the government" taking away your rights, it's the "power inherent in the people".

Nothing is unchangeable but the inherent and unalienable rights of man.
Thomas Jefferson

The whole of the Bill is a declaration of the right of the people at large or considered as individuals... It establishes some rights of the individual as unalienable and which consequently, no majority has a right to deprive them of.
Albert Gallatin

Define "unalienable" and then prove they have an existence independent of political rhetoric.

Kommrade, you simply don't understand how America was founded.

"Unalienable: incapable of being alienated, that is, sold and transferred." Black's Law Dictionary, Sixth Edition, page 1523:

You can not surrender, sell or transfer unalienable rights, they are a gift from the creator to the individual and can not under any circumstances be surrendered or taken. All individual's have unalienable rights.

Inalienable rights: Rights which are not capable of being surrendered or transferred without the consent of the one possessing such rights. Morrison v. State, Mo. App., 252 S.W.2d 97, 101.

I prefer to live in the modern world. That what Jefferson thought we should do.

Some men look at constitutions with sanctimonious reverence, and deem them like the ark of the Covenant, too sacred to be touched. They ascribe to the men of the preceding age a wisdom more than human, and suppose what they did to be beyond amendment... laws and institutions must go hand in hand with the progress of the human mind... as that becomes more developed, more enlightened, as new discoveries are made, institutions must advance also, to keep pace with the times.... We might as well require a man to wear still the coat which fitted him when a boy as civilized society to remain forever under the regimen of their barbarous ancestors.

Thomas Jefferson (on reform of the Virginia Constitution)

The majority of anti-gun proponents know nothing about guns, or are afraid of guns, or are not inclined to defend themselves under any circumstances, or all three.

There are very few exceptions to that rule.

And don't forget, Romney's going to win in a landslide.
Your sarcasm is misplaced in my example. While I am strongly pro-gun and moderate in many of my political views I am as far from the political right as it gets.

And while I voted for Obama it doesn't mean I believe his bullshit. I simply believe we were dealt a losers' hand in the presidential election. As I've repeatedly stated, choosing between Romney and Obama was like choosing between syphilis and gonorrhea. Both are bad, one is much worse, but we had no other viable choices.

You will find that Jefferson can be quoted to support any position you wish to support, as verbose as he was.

But inalienable rights are just that, and you won't be changing the Bill of Rights in your lifetime.

Commie asshole.

So, Jefferson only counts when you want to quote him?

Your final comment proves, I SHOOT, I SCORE! :mm:

Well, most gun owners are GOP voters and white. The minorities that have registered guns, have a license to carry, etc....are also GOP voters most times.....sellouts to these liberals after the guns.

It is also a powertrip for control, if they can take this from you well then they can take that. There's nothing in the US Constitution about you owning a SUV, a ATV, HDTVs, etc.....so when they need assets in some economic collapse repo'g your stuff is legal.

And some are socialists. And others are in gangs with drugs and others would break into your house or business, if they knew you had no guns, for self-defense.

He is a Bolshevist. He really does not buy into the Founding principles of America.
