On various threads touting the good news (good news for ALL of us) some moronic right wingers keep on stating that there are 90 million people "out of work".....Do these imbeciles realize that if that were so our unemployment rate would be about 30%?

Are these nitwits counting retired people, stay-at-home men and women, the severely disabled, etc.?

And, do these same nitwits realize that if they keep on harping on "90 million people out of work" the very same condition will have to be defended under a Trump administration?

There are 90 million people who are jobless, duh. Unemployed is not the same as jobless per the official definition.

But keep on demonstrating your ignorance please.

So, moron.......it is one of government's primary purposes to find jobs for those 90 million people.....How truly fucked up are you and your ilk?

By the way, does selling your name as a brand to others (just like Trump does) make you "jobless"?

Nothing to see here, move along.

At this rate, we will soon have the same labor participation numbers as when women were tied to kitchen - the Nat(zi) dream...

Out of the work FORCE, Chucklehead.

So, why the fuck is THAT a problem?

Are you here stating that those 90 million people WANT TO WORK but cannot find a job?

Ask yourself why they are out of the workforce, research it and get back to me....and don't until you have something besides another middle school meltdown because you don't have the first clue what you're babbling about

Good question
For one, it includes lots of people who likely aren’t looking for work. It includes every American of retirement age -- 65 and older. It includes every high-school student at least 16 years of age. It includes every college and many graduate or professional-school students. It includes every person who has a disability that makes it impossible for them to work. It includes parents who are choosing to stay home to take care of their kids. It includes every adult who’s gone back to school full-time. It even includes trust-fund kids who are living off investments.

Put it all together and this is not a trivial group of people.

Out of the 93.8 million Americans age 16 and up who are deemed "not in the labor force," 9.7 million of them are between 16 and 19 years of age. Another 5.7 million are between 20 and 24. And 37.8 million are age 65 and over. (In fact, 17.5 million are over 75 years old.)

Donald Trump says U.S. has 93 million people 'out of work,' but that's way too high

Nobody's saying that. They're saying 94 million out of how many (not 320 million) are not participating in the labor force.

Unemployment is FAR above 5% though. Most of us know that's liberal spin. It's nearing 20%.

What numbers do you base that on?

He will start touting good job numbers as his sole accomplishment early next year and the Trumpbots will cheer. Then Wall Street will give us another recession by the end of next year and it will be all Obama's fault.

You are not counting babies or toddlers. A 4 year old who lives accross the street is unemployed.
On January 20th, that baby will be digging coal in a mine because Trump will MAGA!

So, why the fuck is THAT a problem?
Because those who ARE working are putting food on their table and cash in their pocket. If they're not working, how do you think they're surviving? SOMEBODY'S paying their way.

The larger that number grows, the fewer Americans are keeping them afloat.

Lowering that number helps all of us.

OK, so which group do you expect to get out there and get a job? The disabled? Stay at home parents raising their young kids, Retired people? Kids in school? Any of the other groups who have historically never been considered as part of the work force? Tell me which of these groups who have never been considered as part of the work force should get out there and get a job.
