Why do people restrict themselves to one genre of music?

Although I don't necessarily believe that people confine themselves to one music style, I think it takes some time to realize the vast, virtually limitless depth into any one "genre" that artists have been digging into since its beginning. Eventually, one may notice how the once obvious difference between two genres can seem much more complicated to define, and much less there at all.

I just think that compartmentalizing music in general may stifle one's ability to really appreciate every piece of music as unique from the rest as any other. I blame the digital interface (computers, iTunes, the internet, etc) for this way of seeing music, but that is not to say that this technology hasn't provided music history with other amazing benefits and transformations.

I don't restrict myself to just country music. Even though it is my most favorite, I do love several non country songs. :) :) :)

God bless you always!!! :) :) :)
