Why do people lack imagination?

Most TV shows are reality, police, and medical shows. Why isn't there more science fiction and fantasy on TV? Are people really that boring when it comes to TV and books?

Most TV shows are reality, police, and medical shows. Why isn't there more science fiction and fantasy on TV? Are people really that boring when it comes to TV and books?

I think some of it is just mental laziness. It's the same when they take an old film, that was already brilliant and decide to re-make it for no apparent reason, and usually the re-make is very inferior to the original. It's mental laziness.

Most people with imagination read books, not watch the television.

Of course, I don't know if the writers come up with those crimes in the crime shows, or if they get them from actual cases..... ? If so, then the criminals are the imaginative ones.

I personally like realistic shows and movies. Like War of the Roses
