Can some liberal please explain why Democrats in Congress didn't even bother to draft a budget bill that was due by October 1st, 2010?

Because THEY were more interested in RE-ELECTION rahter than doing their DUTY via the Constitution...and they didn't want anyone else to KNOW what they wanted to do (AFTER Obamacare? How much More could they damage the Republic)?

We are seeing it NOW...they balk at the responsibility...and think we're stupid enough to buy into the crap that they're peddling in rhetoric...which they would have used anyway in 2010...had they been HONEST...and NOT so caught up in Powermongering over those they are supposed to serve?

How about this. Liberals, do you feel stupid that your representatives have put you in this position to have to defend their negligence in performing the duty they were elected to perform?

If they'd submitted a budget cutting pet projects they risked being voted out by their dependent constituents.

Their Claim is that even though they had a super Majority in the house, 1 Vote short of a Super Majority in the senate and the WH, that the Republicans stopped it.

Now anyone who buys that BS is an idiot. The Democrats were so unwilling to compromise, that they could not even get 1 or 2 Republicans to break ranks and support them. Which of course is all they needed to pass a budget. It was their way or the Highway. Any time a party that had so much power. Tries to blame the opposition from stopping them. You can assume that said party was unwilling to compromise at all.

Hell for that matter I am sure they could have bought 1 or 2 Republican Votes with ear marks for their states and passed it. We all know they like doing that. These arrogant asshole Democrats now want you to believe that even though they were able to ram through a very unpopular Health care bill, that the Big Bad Republicans with their Minority status in the Senate managed to stop the budget.

IMO Democrats are making a serious political error playing this the way they are. Americans are fed up with this shit. The Democrats appear unwilling to be serious about the Budget. The Polls are pretty clear on this. Americans want the spending under control. If a shut down happens. The Dems will try and blame the Republicans, But the American people will know the truth. Republicans asked for what amount to TINY cuts in the deficit, and the Democrats were again unwilling to compromise.

Now they are trying to claim the Republicans are making it about the no money for abortions wording. So why then is it, that all these democrats have signed off, and voted for such wording in the past, but all of the sudden they now say they can not accept it, and might have to let the government shut down over it. Again the Polls are pretty clear on that subject as well. Americans do not think Religious Americans should be forced to fund Abortions through taxes.

Seems the Dems can't seem to get on the right side of any issue.

However, it doesn't change my question to liberals about how they could let their representatives be so remiss as to not take care of business, as we are now over 6 months into the fiscal year.

I did a search for this very topic the other day.
The only thing I could find was a reference to wanting the results of a bilateral committee on the economy before putting a budget forward.
This committee was supposed to report in December 2010.
