EVERYBODY made fun of Gerald Ford.

Why?

AFter NiXXon we needed some levity regarding the POTUS.

It was not fair to President Ford, but kudos to him for putting up with it.

It was mostly Chevy Chase. His impression was lame and was barely funny the first time you saw it. After 30 times it became tedious.

Ford was a very good athlete playing football for a major university. The fact that he slipped twice was vastly overplayed
