Why did Obama Have Troops in Niger?

You Trump supporters started crowing about how great Trump was because the stock market continued to rise after he'd taken office. Just a couple of weeks ago, when the stock market hit record highs yet again, you gave Trump all the credit because you said he'd been running the country for the past 10 months.

Well...............if you're gonna give Trump the credit for the stock market, then you also have to place the blame of the troops in Niger getting killed on him as well.

And now.............it seems that there are several different reasons why this happened coming out of the Pentagon. Some say they diverted from their primary route, some say that they were held up at the meeting with tribal leaders and were attacked because they were behind schedule, and another says that they came in contact with the terrorists and pursued them to the border with Mali. With all the confusing things coming out, this is kinda starting to sound like Trump's Benghazi.

Conflicting Accounts in Niger Ambush Are Subject of Pentagon Investigation

The Pentagon is trying to determine whether American forces involved in a deadly ambush in Niger this month diverted from their routine patrol to embark on an unapproved mission, military officials said on Friday.

The questions have come up because the American and Nigerien soldiers on the patrol have given conflicting accounts about whether they were simply ambushed or were attacked after trying to chase Islamic insurgents, according to military officials from both countries.

The episode has engulfed the White House in crisis and prompted demands from members of Congress for answers about what the soldiers were doing before the attack on Oct. 4.

In interviews with both the Defense Department and The New York Times, Nigerien military officials said that a lightly armed convoy of about 50 Nigerien and American soldiers gave chase to Islamic insurgents on motorcycles until the men crossed the border into Mali, then returned later to ambush the troops.

American service members, by contrast, insisted that they did not chase the insurgents but simply “noticed” them in the vicinity of the village of Tongo Tongo, Defense Department officials said. It was not until the troops interviewed village leaders and were on their way to their base, by the American account, that the insurgents ambushed the convoy, overwhelming them.

Can't believe the fake news agents are hiding the fact Obama's administration started this idea to have troops in Niger. Obama's Benghazi might actually happen now. Him and Crooked H will have something in common!

Obama has been out of office for 10 months now. Any and all military operations are Trump's deal now. I notice that a lot of you conservatives were quick to say what a great leader Trump was when he sent missiles into Syria, yet now you are trying to blame the death of servicemembers a couple of months after that on Obama.

If this does turn out to be another scandal like Benghazi, it's gonna fall in Trump's lap. Why? Because he put Chad on the terror watch list (and nobody knows or understands why), and they pulled the troops they had working with the Americans back home, leaving them outgunned.

Well don't worry about that. Plenty of reason to call out the nobama administration who started the idea to have troops in first place. But yeah, let's look into why nobama thought of it in the first. And not place the blame. But for Trump to drain more of the swamp ideas nobama put in:2up:

You still don't know why we have troops over there? Perhaps this will help........

Where does the U.S. have troops in Africa, and why?

The Pentagon has slowly been bolstering the U.S. presence in Africa in recent years to partner with African nations to thwart various extremist terrorist organizations like the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), Boko Haram and al Qaeda. The four troops slain in an ambush earlier this month -- Sgt. La David Johnson, Staff Sgt. Bryan Black, Staff Sgt. Jeremiah W. Johnson and Staff Sgt. Dustin Wright -- were in Niger to help the Nigerien government fight extremists.

The U.S. has roughly 800 military personnel temporarily deployed to Niger, and rough 6,000 military personnel spread across the continent, according to U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM). Many of those troops are there to support African partners, alongside allies like France, with the goal of increasing the African nations' own security capabilities and stabilizing the region. AFRICOM only began initial operations 10 years ago, in October 2007.

After this ambush. I wonder why Obama had troops in that part of Africa.

Still suffering from Obama derangement syndrome?
Well it's only been 10 months. While he still rambles on. How is fact derangement?

You're obviously deranged if you think that Obama has had anything to do with the military or running this country since Trump was elected.
That short term memory kicking in? Trump took over the presidency with the country being a mess after nobama left. So 10 months have been impressive. Still time for Trump to drain the swamp, sport.

Why do you even waste time posting when you could be drooling over the women on Fox News?

That's kind of sexist of you to automatically think we all drool over the women on Fox News.
