I thought Rodgers played okay, but he didn't have much help. Several good passes dropped by Packers. However, there was no doubt the Giants deserved that game based on how poorly the Packers played.

Giants in the toughest division in football and look out when they have the momentum. Combine this fact with another; namely the Packers had a creampuff schedule this season.
Too bad, cheeseheadz.......

Why did the Giants beat the Packers you ask? Well, let's see. Giants played fairly well. Packers played like shit. That's the way I saw it.

Same reason Seahawks lost to Chicago in playoffs last year. Too many dropped balls. No running game. At least the Hawks had the snow as an excuse...but Chicago somehow managed to catch footballs and convert 3rd downs. It would have been an even worse spanking in Green Bay if Rodgers hadn't converted several third downs running the ball.

They did it so the Saints would feel even dumber about losing to the 49ers and passing up the chance to host the NFC Championship in the Super Dome.

The 2012 Giants are much like the 2011 Packers. Teams that were much better than their records once injured players returned and they were full strength

The Giants won because they took the Packers out of their comfort zone. Rogers did not have time in the pocket and rushed his throws. The receivers did not help him and nobody stepped up with a big play. Ball carriers were getting hit and coughed up the ball

On offense, Eli was rarely pressured and when he was, he just took the sack or threw it away. Packers did not come up big on third down on either side of the ball. Packers had no answer for Hakeem Nicks and that Hail Mary was poorly defended. Nicks was wide open in the end zone

You might say the Packers played poorly or that the Giants showed them for what they are.

Should have been worse. One ofthe Packers TDs was kept alive by a ruling that GB reciever did not fumble -when the ball was CLEARLY coming out before any part of his body hit the ground. Everybody incl the announcers were astonished when the zebras didnt call it a fumble. How can refs sit under the hood for 60 secs and not call that a fumble.?? (someone said maybe they didnt get a video of the best angle on the play - if so - why not?)

Another Packers TD drive was kept alive by a phantom helmet -to helmet penalty by a Giants DL against Rodgers.

Packers tried 2 onside kicks -one with plenty of time remaining. Giants were clearly the better team.

i dont understand why people arent screaming about mccarthy's decision to go for it early in the 4th (13+minutes remaining) around the giant 40-45 or so. it was like 4th and 5 or 6. score was 20-13, big deal. miss it and al they need is a few yards to get in top FG range and make it a 2 score game -- and that is a much tougher road for the packers.

so for all that happened after that that inflated the score i think the game really came down to that bone head call.

i have a phrase i use in these situations -- "That's why they call it the book." As in do it by the book. The book was written by the Lombardi's the Nolls the Landrty's etc -- they came across situations like this a bunch of times and all learned the same thing. in that situation you kick the ball. no 2 ways about it. None. and while the pack played poorly -- esp after that - that call totally undermined them. A true disaster

Eli Manning has only recently been getting the recognition he deserves. He's always been in his brother's shadow, (or blasted for his draft-day antics). But when he's on his game-he's on. You can tell within the first 2 drives if it's going to be a good game or not for him. But a hot Eli is dangerous.

I can't stand Eli, but I agree with you. A hot Rodgers is also dangerous.

A hot Eli is VERY dangerous and on a par with anyone in the league. BUT his problem is that he is very streaky and inconsistent. Some days he flat out stinks up the place (and that results in things like 2 losses to the Redskins) which is what keeps him from being on a par with his brother and the other truly elite QBs in the league. Those other guys are no where near as bad on their bad days as he is.

Main reason Greenbay lost is weather and lack of running game.

Arron Rodgers throws a hard ball that is on you in a hurry that stings even when the temp is 80. The recievers kept dropping passes that he delivered on target. Football is a game of confidence and once they started dropping passes everything became uncertain.

Greenbay's Defense isn't as bad as they seem mainly because everyone that faces them get's scored on quick. That means more plays and more offensive stats. The Chargers had that problem in the 80's. Greenbay has playmakers but lost some of their beef on the D-line during the off-season. They can't stop the run with 3 linemen so this means linebackers and D-backs have to come up in the box for run support making them react more to playaction.

Game time temperatures were 30 degrees....hardly frigid, especially wearing gloves.

30 degrees is cold enough.
Have you ever caught an 90 mph fastball? Have you ever played football in cold weather?
Have you ever caught a ball from somebody with Arron Rodger's arm?

I figure Greenbay was overconfident and couldn't overcome their early mistakes. 7 different recievers dropped balls. Donald Driver was the only one catching the damn thing.
