Why did 145 House Republicans vote against this bill?

Because apparently they had some common sense and decency left. This is just another sad example of an out of control Socialist Nightmare. The People are now screaming for the Government to get off their backs but the Socialists still aren't listening. Make 2010 count people.

You didn't read the bill did you? Put the talking point back in your pocket and shut the fuck up.

Why do you seek to silence those who you disagree with?

The only good this worst U.S. Congress in history can do now is to go away on Recess as soon as possible. At least when they're away you know they can't do any more harm to our country. It's pretty sad when most citizens are actually begging their Congress to hurry up and go away on Recess. 10% approval rating?? Yikes!

Come on people, get real. Republicans are always saying they are "anti-government" and "pro-human rights" and then prove over and over again the exact opposite. Whether it's gays, women, blacks, it doesn't matter. This falls right in line with their "say one thing, wink wink, but mean another".

Republicans are against the middle class, why would anyone believe they supports student's rights. Call it the way it is.

I don't. I have a low tolerance for stupidity. Especially from those that identify themselves with my own party.

I propose Legislation that mandates our Congress only meet two or three times a year with very short sessions. The less they're in session, the less damage they can do to our nation. Things have gotten that bad. The Government is simply doing too much at this point. They are grossly over-reaching. The only way to solve this problem is to mandate our Congress only meet a couple times a year with very short sessions. You know it's bad when most citizens can't wait for them to go away on recess. Recess = Peace & Tranquility. It's time for this disastrous Congress to just go away.

They are not for or against any class. You have been programmed to not believe what you see and hear when conservatives and some republicans speak.

And your partisan reason for the democrats not voting for it?

I do know that I have less anxiety when there is recess. They are out of control with spending.

There was a time on this board when the merits of this bill and the reasons for its passing would have been debated. Now all we get is Glenn Beck talking points and random conjecture about the evils of the GOP. Sad really.

And dont forget....Sarah Palin, Bush, and the latest target, Scot Brown.

Most Americans feel a sense of relief and peace when they're away on recess. It's not just you. The Government is just doing too much at this point. The People are feeling more & more oppressed. They really are screaming for the Government to just get off their backs. The less they meet, the less damage they can do. Is it recess time yet? I think more & more Americans ask that question every day. Time for a Holiday for this worst U.S. Congress in history.

Its getting really hard to debate the left when the special kids on the right are yelling over my shoulder.

Fail.

Let me google that for you

Wrong again, Dumbshit.
Cripes you'd think someone could reason intelligently. But what could I expect from the Proletariat?
United States v. Lopez - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
To uphold the Government's contentions here, we have to pile inference upon inference in a manner that would bid fair to convert congressional authority under the Commerce Clause to a general police power of the sort retained by the States. Admittedly, some of our prior cases have taken long steps down that road, giving great deference to congressional action. The broad language in these opinions has suggested the possibility of additional expansion, but we decline here to proceed any further. To do so would require us to conclude that the Constitution's enumeration of powers does not presuppose something not enumerated, and that there never will be a distinction between what is truly national and what is truly local. This we are unwilling to do.
