He has made the non-PC point. CA's problems are based on a few things, top of the list is definitely Illegal immigation. Here is a small list of her problems:
(1) Illegal Immigration putting a strain on welfare, the hospitals, education, auto insurance (good luck getting an illegal to pay if you get in an accident with them) and on law enforcement. Not to mention the one's that do work usu don't pay taxes. CA has a huge problem, but no one will turn it around, because no one wants to address the fact that their main problem is Illegal immigration. The sancturary society of CA is too hard to break with so many liberals whites, non-voting blacks and pro-illegal immigration gigantic Latino population.
(2) The Housing Crunch! CA more than any State even FL save its housing shoot to unsustainable levels and the bubble bursting hurt them the most. Not to mention many of the big banks are located in CA.
(3) Over taxation and over-regulation pushed many very productive business out! Not too mention many productive individuals.
(4) Liberal Economics at work never works!
(5) And of course the economic rescession altogether.

Actually, California's broke because they depended on rich people to pay all the taxes. Once the crisis hit, all these rich people with lots of stocks and houses and all that started making less money. So, let's say, they paid 25% of taxes (for example), but now that they are less rich, they pay less taxes, let's say they are paying 60% of that previous 25%, sooo, there's a 10% deficit. I'm just pulling the numbers out of my ass, it could be 15% deficit, or 20% deficit, but that's basically what's going on.
