LA already has 2 teams - if you include the Clippers.

Seattle is the logical choice to get the Kings - the Flying Dutchman of the NBA - Cinncinati and Kansas City Royals........

wow, I am so disconnected from espn I had not heard this, was their attendance low? I can see that, Sac and its environs have been eviscerated by the bad economy, housing fails etc....

I'm sure it has nothing to do with money.

The NBA would move all of it's teams to N.Y. and L.A. if they could get away with it.

The King's Stadium is a pile of rubbish with only 30 luxury boxes. The Maloufs have been trying to get the city to step up to the plate for a decade and build a new venue.....Sacramento voters put the final nail in the proverbial coffin when they voted down a quarter-cent sales tax increase to fund construction.

The Maloof Brothers tried keep the team in Sacramento because of the fan support. But lacking a new NBA quality venue, the team is doing the only thing it can do as a business model—move. They have already picked out the new name for the team. They recently trademarked both the Anaheim Royals and the Los Angeles Royals.....

Sorry, Sacramento, but you only have yourself to blame!:lol:

PS- the NBA still has to approve the deal- but they will - there are over 15 million people in the 4 county area- more than enough to support another NBA team. Honda Center in Anaheim is 35 miles from Staples....

The people of Sacramento didn't want their taxes raised just so they could keep the privilege of seeing a bunch of assholes score 100 points in increments of 1, 2 and 3.

Good for them. The NBA has plenty of money, they should have just built another stadium themselves if they thought it was important.

But you see, apparently fan opinion don't count for shit in the NBA.

Man thats crazy.LA? when they already have The Lakers AND The Clippers who probably dont sell very well when they have the Lakers to go to all the time.:cuckoo: they should pull an oakland raiders and move back to kansas city.:cuckoo:

Good for the voters of Sacramento for not giving into sports socialism.

I agree. It is essentially sports welfare. The biggest benefactors are the teams - not the cities.

However, if a tier 3 city like Sacramento wants the prestige associated with an NBA franchise (NBA prestige? - that is debatable!) - they'll have to compete against Tier 1 and 2 cities with better facilities and larger fan bases.

We'll have at least one and possibly two NFL franchises in LA within 5 years. AEG is building a state of the art new stadium - without taxpayer funds.

AEG trumpets naming deal for proposed LA stadium - NFL - Yahoo! Sports

My money would be on one of the NorCal teams.

There are at least 6 potential teams that come to mind...the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Buffalo Bills, the Minnesota Vikings, the St. Louis Rams (wouldn't that be ironic!) , the San Diego Chargers, and the Oakland losers. LA's getting a team soon- there is no doubt about it- we just will have to see which one.
