I wouldn't call it a "malfunction." It's mostly just uneducated people who look at other cultures or skin colors as a threat, especially if they are unfamiliar with the other group and have had a bad experience with even just one person.

That's a good question. Let's start with The Obama. Why is he racist?

Because, anyone who calls their "white grandmother" a "typical white person" is about as racist as you can get.

Most often displaced frustration/anger. They're not getting laid enough or they're out of work so they find somebody unlike themselves in a visible way to hate.

Also ethnocentrism can cause one to look down upon other races just like nationalism can cause one to look down on other nations.

Because they are too dumb to know any better. Would you believe there are some people who believe certain groups should be given preferential treatment based on the color their skin? I know it sounds crazy, but it happens all the time. Take for instance the Democratic Party. They believe in Affirmative Action which gives certain people preferential treatment based on the color of their skin. That's tantamount to State-sanctioned racism, and yet somehow they believe that's okay. Crazy.

Some of them even have their own Congressional Caucus, their own national association for their advancement, united college funds, beauty contests, history month etc...etc...etc
and then there are those who push "diversity" on others while not allowing it in their own little far away land while practicing apartheid and genocide against people because of their race.
I guess certain groups just feel that they are superior to everyone else. It must be okay though ...... nobody ever seems to protest.
I don`t know ...... why ARE they racist???

There are a bunch of reason's I would gather ...

They could have been raised that way. They might have been victimized by someone of a certain race. They could see another racial group as competition for work/opportunity. They might believe everything they see on TV.

Going against a minority group?

I can tell you right now I have absolutely no problem with any minority who acts correct.

I'm 28 years old and I'm not going to sit here and watch as minorities kill one another redundantly and then try to pass them selves off as victims of some sort.

Every black friend I have has been rejected by the hood and the majority of black folks because they dare to be conservative.. Thats not wrong?

Racism these days is really pathetic, it doesnt truly exist in my age group...

Just because some white person doesnt like a black guy it doesnt mean its racial.

I shouldnt have to like every black person I meet and I dont, the fact they're black has nothing to do with it. .

I'm generally a conservative so I tend to agree and have friends who share the same opinions as I do, race doesnt mean anything to me.

However I know race means everything to liberals tho... Its really pathetic.

It is far easier (and lazy) to just assume things, and slap a label on them. Actual thinking, analysis, evaluation and understanding that you don't really have enough info to make a declarative decision is less comforting and more labor intensive than short, generalizations that let you move on to the next topic.

Imagine how gard it would be to fin dout how all Republicans feel about something, like say climate change. It would be exhaustive, and filled with nuance, and overlapping yet slightly differeing opinions, experiences, etc. When it is way easier to just think: "Republicans? Bunch a' Oil&Gas a**holes, they only care about money"

Which clearly might be true in some cases (in any party) but alleviates any need to actually figure things out.


So, once again - it's intellectually comforting to think less, and assume more. (for some people anyway)

I've been prejudiced my entire life. I'll admit it. Most are but won't admit it or call it that. What I mean by being prejudiced is that I wouldn't feel safe walking down the street in an all Black neighborhood. Would any white person?

I remember when I was a kid, my parents would take me to this park to go sledding. Over the years, the neighborhood became more and more Black. One year, these three black guys came up to us and asked my Dad whether he was crazy bringing himself and his White Ass family into their neighborhood. It was a little worse that that actually. That was the last time we went to that park. Yes, I know, it could have happened in a poor white neighborhood where a bunch of white punks did the same thing. But that's not what happened, and when bad things happen to people, it tends to stick with them. Bad experiences don't change people in positive ways. However, good experiences can.

Now, I just recently moved to a new city so I could be closer to my girlfriend. Being 1200 miles apart wasn't conducive to a decent relationship. I have a small business that still is running in Colorado, so I get a bit of income from that, and I get SS for my kids as I'm widowed. Before my wife became sick, my business was doing very well, but when she got sick, I wasn't able to pay much attention to it, so things started going downhill. Then I got real sick and wasn't able to work much for two years.

Anyway, that gets me to where I am now. I've been working on starting my business here, in this new city. Things are going slow, so I took a part-time job delivering pizza, just to have some extra spending money. Here's something I learned. Blacks don't tip the pizza driver. Is it a racist thing on their part? No. They don't tip the black drivers either. This isn't all Blacks mind you, only about 75% of them. I chalk it up to ignorance, but I find myself disliking these people more and more.

I'm sure some of you will say it's because they can't afford to tip, but that's bullshit. 75% of the poor Whites living in the trailer parks tip, and usually they tip decent. Blacks who live in 4000 square foot homes don't tip either. It's not just the low income earners. So what gives? I've talked to waiters/waitresses who say the same thing. Blacks don't tip in restaurants either, and when they do, they don't tip well.

These are the type of things that help reinforce already existing negative feelings to Blacks, in this case, but to other races also with similar situations. Am I a racist? No, although some will say I am. I think blacks should have equal opportunities and I think it would be great if everyone got along a lot better. I have no issue with interracial marriage and I believe that when people live in mixed race communities, it provides a better understanding between everyone.

But people's actions do influence the way others think about them, and that includes everyone. I don't have any answers but I figured I'd throw in my two cents.

Hah, too funny. In the club industry, they dont tip bar tenders either. Bar tenders used to get in big fights over who would have to work hip hop nights and who would get to work techno nights. It wasnt racism, it was about money. You could make twice as much money with a white crowd, half the size of your hip hop crowd.

By the way, if you want to know who tips best, its the gay community. Those guys are ridiculously generous. Asians were pretty good too actually.
