Why are republicans appalled that the DNC supports a given candidate?

This is how politics works. Smoky backroom deals are the norm for both parties. Why does this surprise anyone?

The DNC leadership is supposed to support what its part members want not what they want.
When the leadership of an organization that is supposed to represent all its members actively works against a candidate in it own party it is a betrayal of the people represented.

The people should decide with no interference from the committee leadership. Then the leadership should do everything possible to support the members' chosen candidate

Theoretically true, but proceduraly not so much. You are suggesting that the DNC (or RNC for that matter) are followers of the people, not leaders. The DNC and RNC see themselves as opinion leaders, forming and leading the party. Hence, the DNC tried to swing votes to Hillary and the RNC tried to swing votes away from Trump.

No one is surprised at all about the backroom deals. BUT what is amazing this time around is that Sanders and Trump pulled back the scab called "inside the beltway elitism" and showed the pus laded tactics of both the RNC and the DNC.

Way more pus that even most imagined.

You either work to have things the way they are supposed to be or you do nothing and bend over.

So the outrage against Wasserman is justified and hopefully will mean the DNC will be pressured to operate as they should not as they have been

The political parties used to pre-select the candidates and get the delegates to ratify their choices at the convention. The Little People complained that they had no say, so the parties changed the rules to democratize the process. When this was done, the party operatives were supposed to be neutral, and let the "democratic" process go forward to nominate the candidate that The People wanted.

DID YOU EVER STOP TO WONDER WHY DW-S NEVER MADE HER PREFERENCE PUBLIC - constantly claiming that the DNC was taking a hands-off position? Because she knew that working for one candidate was a violation of her obligation to The Little People who populate the Democrat party.

AFTER THE NOMINATION, is when the DNC can start to promote one candidate. NOT BEFORE!

But as a card-carrying Republican and a charter member of the Great Right Wing Conspiracy, I have no problem with their underhanded tactics. It's the Bernie supporters who are rightfully pissed off.

Some of us have been trying to tell you this for some time, it's the entire system.

It's the democrats that should be appalled after all it was their party leadership who worked against them

It is vital that each and every member of the Media Matters Internet Outreach and Agitprop start a new profile and post on all Internet Boards in support of the DNC actions. You don't even have to know what the DNC did, just say, "well everyone does it...etc... BOOOSH!"

While republican leadership is behind Trump? Sheesh, your system is corrupt, face it.

And republicans can be upset about that but then again there was no concrete proof of anyone in the RNC leadership undermining any candidate was there?

And you think that means the american political system is not corrupt? Ok then, you go with that. Make it partisan if ya like. It's all on "their" side.

Republican leadership plotted and fought against Trump from the beginning until he was nominated and confirmed. Many of them are still not behind him.

You obviously haven't read many of my posts.

But let me give you a synopsis of my take on the political system in this country.

There is really no difference between republicans or democrats. Both parties do nothing but increase the size scope and cost of government all the while managing to keep people like you thinking that there really are 2 sides and you must choose one.

Well I choose neither.

But you keep playing the us and them game like the rest of the sheep only now you know that you are doing just what both parties want you to do
