Why are all our professional sports leagues ran by communist?

Difference is that team owners get together and VOTE on the changes they want for their leagues.

Plus they're Privately Owned so they can do what they want. OP is applying concepts to Private Industry that only apply to Gov't.

Since they can do what they want why do they redistribute wealth?

I have heard that they get together and vote in America too.

(I've even heard that some NFL owners even do stuff they don't want too cause they lost the vote)

They don't redistribute wealth, each team agrees on the gate receipt splits. Like Miami vs Dallas, Dallas gets a 60/40 cut. As far as TV revenue, they all get amount. They agree to a salary cap to prevent over spending and the possibility of having a weak franchise due to someone making bad business decisions. The branding of sale items, jerseys and other items are split between the team, the league and the players.

No socialism, it is branding, marketing and taking advantage of a TV revenue stream.

Of course they're some kind of socialists.

The very smartest kind of socialists...capitalist socialists

They force the citizens pay for their stadiums while they get to keep the profits from their teams.

Force citizens? Don't the citizens vote on it? If the majority votes for it, it isn't forcing. Now, raising taxes for things like health care is more of the forcing you are talking about.

It's called democracy, not communism, not socialism, it is democracy.

It is a private franchise that has billions a year in profit. We the government starts making a profit, get back to us. Otherwise this is nonsensical.

So wealth redistribution helps to make people profitable, maybe we should do more of that across the nation as you suggest, maybe it would make the whole country more profitable, I think you have a good ideal.

As far as running like a business do you mean offer health insurance and stuff like that?

We could call it the public option.

Their votes actually matter because they can see them being implemented. The NFL Commish is held responsible at yearly meetings, unlike the US Prez.

Also, the NFL doesn't have a "Federal Reserve or Central Bank" printing exact copies of NFL teams and distributing them all over the world thus diluting and cheapening the brand.

If the NFL has any type of insurance that insurance is paid for by the players and all the people involved in the business that actually pay into it.

You're only example of NFL emulating Gov't is when the NFL owners force the local populace to pay a tax to build Football Only Stadiums for just 8 games a year. That's unfair isn't it? Making others pay for what you want right?

Many people who pay that tax DON'T EVEN LIKE FOOTBALL!

How is the wealth redistributed? Teams spilt gate revenues, because both are involved. Teams split TV revenue, all is involved. Teams get revenue for their brand items sold, the NFL gets a cut because of their ownership, players get a cut if their name is involved.

Nothing is redistributed.

Money is earned, profits made, nothing is redistributed.

Professional sports teams are franchises. Being a franchise means that you have to do what the parent company says per the terms of your franchise agreement. So there are many things you can't do, such as relocate your franchise, unless the parent company says you can.

So, for example, the NFL can dictate all kinds of rules, such as uniform uniformity (?), equipment requirements, etc. Like McDonalds, the parent company can also require and enforce all sorts of fees and financial rules per the operating agreement. If a prospective NFL franchisee doesn't like the fees and rules, they don't have to sign on the dotted line. The parent company can also distribute money as it sees fit to maintain its existence and profitability.

That's how franchises work. Rules are created and enforced by the parent company, not the government. So the NFL is an example of capitalism, not communism.

Did I really need to explain this?

.
Yes, you did....Socialists aren't at all bright.

So dense in fact that your very direct and succinct explanation won't permittee their cement heads.

Dumber than a sack of bricks.

Both the ownership and players enter into voluntary contractual agreements, to play by the rules they come up with for their voluntary associations.

Socialized medical services give nobody any such choice to take it or leave it.

The public option would be voluntary too, it's just the cons were all chicken shit to actually compete with the good old USA cause they know the insurance companies would all get their asses kicked, you would know that if you paid attention.

Dumbass.

No, it won't.

The cynically dubbed "public option" is just another way of saying "socialized medicine" without actually having to say it...It's no more than Medicare that will go broke ten times faster, so the only way to "save" it will be to force everyone into the "public option".

Assbonnet.

You posting endless ignorant posts like watching a monkey screw a football.

The NFL is a oligopoly, moron. The owners work together to maintain their market base, so sharing some of the revenue ensures the stronger teams don't kill off the league.

Run along, idiot.

I was just wondering what with all revenue sharing they do, did they all study at the Kremlin or something?

So you're comparing professional sports to say IBM? Not apples to apples my friend......try again

Ugh. Straw man arguments give me gas. If you can show me how IBM has a franchise functionality, I'll be able to respond.

I answered the question as clearly and simply as I could.

.

I agree with your post, it's very good. the NFL is a business and the teams are franchises, kinda like a McDonalds franchise, not seperate businesses as liberals think they are

Why are all the cons chicken shit to compete against it then? Caues they know they're full of shit, that's why. They know that wasteful private profit centers can never compete with hard working Americas.

Gubmint monopoly isn't "competition", fool.

So your point is that the pros don't "compete"?

Look who the dumb ass is of course they compete, with each other and try to build the strongest overall system for the whole being smart people they know that wealth redistribution makes them stronger overall, I would like the leaders of our country look to make the country stronger overall.

This is a specious argument. Any business could be considered "socialism" within itself. For that matter any FAMILY could be considered "socialism" within itself. The painfully obvious difference is that those functions and actions are not controlled and/or owned by an outside, public entity.

I'm not a Tea Partier, I'm not a "government is evil at all times" absolutist, but this whole premise is silly. Making it worse is the obtuse behavior of those pushing it. If you want more government control, fine, that's a separate argument. But putting a dog mask on a cat doesn't make it a dog.

Nothing of substance is accomplished until intellectual honesty is adhered to.

And by the way, the phrase should be spelled "...run by communists."

sports teams are owned by different people, they work together to make the league strong, not unlike a country owned by different people but working together to make the country strong, yes if you want a strong league you must redistribut some wealth, same if you want a strong country, as far as the size of government, I want it big enough to make sure I get a chance in the workplace ran by giants and to make sure I got clean water to drink, but not so big to post up in my bedroom or doctor's office.

Pro sports leagues are greedy, colluding capitalists, moron.

They could give a fuck about the people who don't make the team, and certainly don't share the wealth with them.

Thread fail.
