I'm sorry, Harry, but you're not listening. There are lots of people that criticize his policies without hateful remarks about him and his wife. Or saying he wasn't born here or he is not a Christian or his mother was a welfare queen. People are entitled to not like what a president does.

But there is so much hate out there that has nothing to do with his policies. Look at Frank's posts, for instance.

It's very easy to understand what I am saying. I just don't get where the confusion comes from.

All through the presidential campaign there were people protesting his candidacy, calling him a traitor, a socialist, a communist, a Muslim or an Arab, (which to their minds were all bad things) but none of this was true! But they still persisted in spewing their hatred toward him and were not amenable to reason or the truth.

At some of John McCain’s rallies there were people shouting kill him! I can’t remember anybody at a political rally shouting kill a presidential candidate in my life time, no matter how unpopular they were! So again, Why All This Drama Over Obama?

What had candidate Obama done that was so egregious that it engendered that kind of intense hatred and hostility toward him?

When he announced he was running for president, the secret service had to start guarding him about six months before they normally start guarding presidential candidates, because of all the death threats he was receiving. So the question is why is that? What had he done that was so bad that they had to start guarding him that early? Did he murder somebody, rape somebody, rob a bank, commit an act of terrorism?

No he didn't.

As shocking as this may seem to some of you, there are some people in this country who just don’t want to see a black man be president of the United States! Or any none white person for that matter. But definitely not a black man! They say this is a white country and should be ruled or governed only by white people, preferably white men.

To these people (including some in the congress) President Obama can do no good. He could walk on water, bring the dead back to life, wipe out world hunger, bring peace to the world and they’ll find a way to find something wrong with what he did. Because it’s not about what he did. It’s about what he is!

It's karmic backlash from all the Bush hating and Bushwhacking that went on before.

Sadly, the bullying back and forth and labeling of groups completely fails to recognize there are actual LEGITIMATE objections to Bush (from both Dems and Reps regarding Bush policies in Iraq and Patriot Act) as there are LEGITIMATE objections to Obama (including Greens and Dems who wanted single payer and did not want insurance companies lobbies getting paid to continue the system they were objecting to).

The common ground on solutions and objections on BOTH sides is buried in the shuffle.

In both cases, the legitimate grievances arguing that the policies are Unconstitutional are lost in the media hype discrediting valid objections as "just being antiBush" or (antiObama).

So both sides are getting a taste of their own medicine, and taking turns being the hypocrite when your party or representative is being criticized.

Prochoice liberals who did not want prolife policies legislated by mandates, suddenly find themselves DEFENDING a bill that legislated by mandates (because they want to defend lives that would be saved, even by force of law against free choice); and vice versa, prolife advocates who wanted to use the force of law to save lives suddenly OBJECT to mandates that would force insurance coverage to save lives (because now they want free choice, not govt to impose on them).

When opponents objected to Bush and the war they were labeled "anti-american communists and traitors." When opponents object to Obama and health bill they are "racist" and want the poor to die. The namecalling of Occupy and Tea Party was similar, and totally masks over any constitutional sustainable solutions the members were working on that is not shown in the media, only the radical protests and namecalling.


Clearly the parties are selectively biased, and will forgive overreaching by their own candidate or party, while criticizing the other for that! When you agree with a law it's constitutional, when you don't it's unconstitutional; but when the OPPONENTS say the same, well that's because they "hate your party candidate," not that THEIR beliefs are equally valid, only when it's YOUR beliefs being overridden!

A lot of that is misprojection.
Because of the people who vote for Obama just because he is black.

(I know a talk show radio host who even interviewed a conservative pro gun anti liberal type, who was black and voted for Obama "because he was black" and overlooked all the other political differences they had in actual policy.)

on the other hand, there are those who would have TOTALLY attacked Obama as being an Uncle Tom had he been conservative.

the first time around, whether it's the first black or first woman, there is going to be a lot of this extra flack back and forth. It's a shame it obfuscates what are the real issues someone has when people are only focused on "making it about" race or gender etc. Part of the human learning curve, no way around it, just through it.

Hopefully we'll get through this process sooner, now that we've taken turns bashing Bush, supporters and opponents
and now Obama, supporters and opponents. When we get tired of wasting billions of dollars on hate campaigns back and forth
maybe we'll consider using those resources to buy back America's cities schools and communities to develop solutions
before we completely sell out and outsource our opportunities to Mexico and China. Such a waste, so sad we don't invest campaign funds directly into rebuilding our own nation but dividing it further!
