Most of the violence supposedly directed to the left is either fantasy or air. Real violence like gunshots and real threats are ignored if directed rightward. But all the sudden we here all this noise about how the lefties are being all so courageous about fantasy righty violence. (If there is violence in the political sphere, I am again it, no mistake. But I don't see it coming from this side.) Boortz has a list of why all the sudden "violence" talk. It obscures some realities they don't want discussed.
It's called deflection. The demoncwats know they have screwed up,, now they play their victim card in hopes we will forget, but we won't forget.
Excuse me The last time I remember shooting a right winger was back in the 80's. It involved Reagan and an assualt gun ban was issued. But you can shoot a lefty church up, close down their state campaign HQ by force, tear gas their demonstrations and throw rocks into their offices and we suppose to act as if it is part of a socialist wild imagination? You are kidding, right? By the way, I disagree with Boortz reasons for discussion of violence. He raise interesting points that we can still discuss regardless of whos office is destroyed
If we defend the so called violent actions and retoric, it makes us the bad guy. It's all part of a comprehensive plan to pass the rest of their agenda, which includes, amnesty for illegal immigrants, cap and trade, and a national sales tax in addition to income tax. We have to continue to protest peacefully and call them on their accusations of violence.
So now they are twisting their own violence into the oppositions fault. There is no reasoning with these people. they live in an echo chamber
There is a lot of fury on the right, but the only actual violence was shots fired at the minority whip's house. But all this noise covers a lot of very harsh realities that will come home to roost over the near term. We are already getting layoffs because of this, and the realities of non coverage are percolating. Your talk is mostly noise to cover the real hurricane of bad economic news headed towards us as a result of all this.
Boortz is right. It's a deflection intended to direct media attention AWAY from all the healthcare details they don't want to talk about. But... there's more. The purpose is two-fold. Politically, they have no answer for the Tea Party movement... and they need to smear it and paint it as a lunatic fringe. Barack Obama has polarized this country's population, behaving as a hyper-partisan. And naturally, with such a gulf between them, folks are pissed off and bickering. They're USING that polarization, or attempting to use it, to suit their own political ends. It's the ENDLESS Obama campaign, and we're all weary of it. But we can't give up and we can't give in. We've got to outlast them, and redirect the national conversation from the rhetorical to the substantive.
