Why all the crickets??????

When Bush was President, seemed like everyday you heard some ration of crap about how bad a President he was - especially for the Middle East wars. Now, you hardly ever hear anything about the wars at all. Has all the loud mouths gotten to hoarse to yell and scream? Could it be that if you are a Democratic President war is acceptable? Why all of the crickets? All I hear is crickets...

Their most important and relied upon tool used to decide whether they support or oppose a President's policies and the decibel level to use as they do or don't - is whether the guy has an "R" or a "D" after his name. The people you are talking about are ideologues and ideologues are shrill, irrational and above all -total hypocrites. Ideologues aren't confined to just one political side of course - but liberal ideologues own these traits in a way not seen among others.

Bush is a colossal failure that lead us to 2 unnecessary wars.

HE brought all this mess upon us, and many of us sat and WATCHED him do so...after WARNING him not to.

Obama is TRYING to clean up and doing a damn good job at it.

Case closed.

I can almost understand (almost) calling Iraq unnecessary, but Afghanistan? Are you high?

Riight... you haven't been paying attention. Kenyan, Killing Grandma, freedom hating, Socialist, Communist, Muslim-in-Chief....I could go on.

The point is, you are ignoring your own ideologues.

Isn't it better than hearing the voices you usually hear?

Republicans, Right Wingers and other far Right radicals are really masters at ignoring facts and rewriting history.

This thread is proof positive of that.

Maybe it is because we are pulling out of Iraq and will be pulling out of Afhanistan. But there are still protests going on.

Americans have realized that both Presidents are owned by the War Party. Now they should understand that we are being governed by the Demopublicans.

Iraq was unnecessary. The SECOND Afghan war was unnecessary. Bush scattered the Taliban for hiding Bin Laden and rightly so. That was necessary. But then Bush let Bin Laden go, left a small force was in Afghanistan and moved the bulk of American forces into Iraq. That was unnecessary.

When Obama became president, he made getting Bin Laden the primary goal, and again, rightly so. To do that, Obama moved the bulk of American forces out of Iraq and back into Afghanistan. If Bush had gotten Bin Laden the FIRST time, we wouldn't be bankrupt, thousands of Americans wouldn't be dead. Bin Laden would have already been gone.

So while it was necessary to go after Bin Laden THE FIRST TIME, if he had been taken care of, we wouldn't have had to go after him a SECOND time. And that's why the second Afghan war was unnecessary. Because Bush FAILED the first time because he wanted to "nation build" and "be a hero". If he had spent 20 minutes studying the region, he might not have been so foolish. Now half the population of Iraq is enslaved and living in Burkas and they've modeled their government on Iran.

One thing about Bush. He was "consistent". In fact, both him AND the Republican Party have been "consistent". Everything they've touched has turned to shit.

You ever wonder why Bush let Bin Laden Go? Historically, the Bush's and the Bin Laden's go way back... the two families were/are friends.

Granted, Osama was disowned by the Bin Laden Family... but it still makes you wonder.

Just a thought... kind a tin foil hat one... but a thought nonetheless.

Posts like this always make me wonder how bad the selective amnesia is.

I think the Bush supporters forget how divisive Iraq was. Bush was widely popular before he got us into that (and don't give me a bunch of crap about blaming congress, Bush lobbied for that war and he got his wish).

Obama has supervised us getting out of Iraq, made Bin Laden a top security priority again (with results), and set the stage for us to get out of Afghanistan.

That's exactly why I voted for him.

He's cleaned up Bush's foreign policy mess.

Come on, be real. Obama followed Bush's plan for withdrawal from Iraq almost to the dotted i's and crossed t's....

Some time back there was a total of about 20 thousand American troops in Afghanistan. Bush had 12 thousand of them working with Nato forces. the other 8 thousand were combing the Pakistan border regions looking for Bin Laden. While the whole time the CIA, NSA, and probably a half dozen agencies we can only dream of were following up on leads. Go ahead and deny it.

Either way, he made a clear commitment to get us out. That in contrast to McCain's "we'll be there a 100 years if necessary". It's also likely that much of Bush's sense of urgency over getting us out of Iraq was the realization that the GOP wouldn't hold onto the White House. I'll give Bush credit for the initiating the withdrawal, but considering he started the damn thing, it doesn't mean much in the larger sense.

As for Bin Laden hypothetical, maybe Obama got lucky or maybe it was a direct result of his policies. We'll never know. It's irrelevant now. Obama was the guy in office when we took him down.

I know exactly what Bush had going on in Afghanistan. I was there. Why would I deny it?
