Who's Smart?

The ultimate "Conservative," Ronald Reagan ( ray-gun) had an IQ of 105 but he wasn't the dumbest president ever. That distinction belongs to George H.W. Bush with an IQ of 98. Now that is truly consistent with the regressive mindset of traditionalists who resist change and new ideas. In other words...neoconservatives.

But since the SAT score of Rush Limbaugh was showcased here, let's take a look at his academic record.
He is purported to have an SAT of 1530 and an IQ of 137 but flunked out of college. Not Yale or Harvard, mind you...but some obscure small town college that few of us have ever heard of. That causes me to wonder when he took that SAT and how many times did he fail that too! Heh heh heh...

"The ultimate "Conservative," Ronald Reagan ( ray-gun) had an IQ of 105..."
You Liberal simpletons.....

Six years of Obama economy....

Now we give you the IQ Test: which would you rather have, Obama's economy or Reagan's?

"We call this period, 1982-2007, the twenty-five year boom-the greatest period of wealth creation in the history of the planet. In 1980, the net worth-assets minus liabilities-of all U.S. households and business ... was $25 trillion in today's dollars. By 2007, ... net worth was just shy of $57 trillion. Adjusting for inflation, more wealth was created in America in the twenty-five year boom than in the previous two hundred years."

How's that for 'in your face,' you moron?

1 gas prices are low
2. the stock market is at record levels
3. unemployment is lower than where mittens said he would have it after three years.

what on earth is your problem? if a republican president had this record (despite being sabotaged by Obama deranged wingnuts) you'd be waving palm leaves and singing hosanna

Not only will Obama be remembered as the worst President in the pantheon of inept, anti-American, mistakes to haunt the White House.....

....but the simpletons who put him in that position will get the contumely they so richly deserve.
This op started out as a debate about who is smarter, conservatives or liberals. Now PC wants to divert the attention away from the low IQs of Reagan and Bush by attacking the administration of a much brighter Obama. Gosh, woman, if Obama had as low an IQ as either reagan or Bush he would have succumbed long ago from the incredible onslaught waged against him by the obstructionist Republicans. Incredibly he withstood the political storm and got himself re-elected. You got a problem with that? tuff doo-key!

....many more.

And, number one?

You'll always be number two to me.

And this:

b. "Kim Ung-Yong (born March 7, 1963) is a Korean former child prodigy. He scored a 210 IQ on the Stanford-Binet test according to the Guinness Book of World Records. At five months he was able to walk and speak and at seven months he was able to write and play chess . He began to learn differential calculus at the age of three. He was able to read and write in Japanese, Korean, German, and English by his fourth birthday. At the age of four years on November 2, 1967, he solved complicated differential and integral calculus problems on Japanese television, demonstrated his proficiency in German, English, Japanese, and Korean, and composed poetry.

Kim was a guest student of physics at Hanyang University from the age of three until he was six. At the age of seven he was invited to the United States by NASA.. He finished his university studies, eventually getting a Ph.D in physics at Colorado State University before he was 15. In 1974, during his university studies, he began his research work at NASA and continued this work until his return to Korea in 1978.

When he returned to Korea, his doctorate in physics and research work at NASA were considered worthless and he had to begin his studies again. He decided to switch from physics to civil engineering and eventually received a doctorate in that field. Kim was offered the chance to study at the most prestigious universities in Korea, but instead chose to attend a provincial university.

Sounds like you're still peeved that your IQ has less than three digits.

Seriously though. You can't compare AZN's because they are "instructed" for 14+ hrs/day from a very young age. In other words, they're robbed of their childhoods.

In Korea for instance, they get up early and go to school. Know what they do when school's over? Go to "school after school". Then know what they do after that? Go home and study.

Standardized tests are just one indicator in a vast array of measures for intelligence. Other than bragging rights there is not much value for the scores in the long run.

Common sense is the rarest form of intelligence.

I can't for the life of me figure out what would bring you to a thread whose title represents the kind of insult you hear every single day.

Glutton for punishment, huh?

Funny thing is that AZN's
chinese1_smiley.gif
THINK they're smart because they memorize "stuff" so they might be able to get good scores on standardized tests. Real smarts comes from being able to apply knowledge in new inventive ways.

Wait....didn't you just reference the man with the highest IQ on record.....who happens to be Asian?

Oh...I get it......you needed to provide proof of how truly stupid you are.

Wasn't necessary.....folks have seen your posts.

Wait.....are you actually opposed to 'finishing one's work"....

...and to study of classical music???
The difference between you and yogurt is that yogurt has active culture.

You are exactly the kind of American known as 'the reliable Democrat voter."
No doubt who you voted for.

Now pay attention:
Today is the birthday of Sergei Rachmaninoff, born April 1, 1873

No matter who it is, if the person under discussion is a Republican, a conservative, a religious individual, one can always count on Liberals to accuse 'em of being 'dummmm.'
Never fails.

Let's see.....

1. "Meanwhile talk show host Rush Limbaugh, political commentator Bill O'Reilly and actor and economist Ben Stein picked up near-perfect [SAT] scores of 1530, 1585 and 1573 respectively.

It's not just conservatives with high scores though: Al Gore kept the tally high for the Democrat camp with a score of 1355.

US president Barack Obama, on the other hand, has repeatedly refused to release his education records.

Not all celebrities fared brilliantly however, with presenter Howard Stern rumoured to have picked up a low 870, and baseball star Alex Rodriguez reaching just 910. Meanwhile stand-up comedian Janeane Garofalo is thought to have scored around 950."

2. ".... former US President Bill Clinton scored fairly low - with results of 1020 puts him more than 200 points below successor George W Bush's 1206. SAT FAIL !"
Ibid.

3. "Famed Harvard Law School professor Alan Dershowitz ranks Sen. Ted Cruz among the school’s smartest students,...."

4. How many time have we heard that Bush is 'stoooopiddddd.'
Turns out, it's just one more Liberal error....you know, like electing you-know-who.

"Being a legacy student definitely helped much more years ago. But it's foolish to think that a 1206 is an average score.
A 1206 would be scored a 1210 by today's standards of rounding off (all scores end in 0). And it's more than 2 standard deviations above the mean, putting his score in the top 5% when it was taken. The vast majority of "average colleges" offer full-scholarships to students they can attract with SATs at or above 1200 (on the old scale).

By no means would it only have been good enough to get him into an average college. It would have been considered an acceptable score by most institutions in the nation, pending the rest of the application such as GPA, extra-curriculars, etc.

You can debate the worthiness of his acceptance to an Ivy League school with such a score because most have traditionally preferred 1300 or above on the old scale since the late 90's, but you cannot debate the fact that it was a very good score. I'm not even a Bush supporter nor did I vote for him, but there's no denying the stats.

Common sense is common.

Otherwise, youre speaking of uncommon sense.

But like other sheep like traits of humans, we say "common sense is rare" as though that's an intelligent observation.
