Trump has yet to fill 85% of key executive branch positions

Probably career bureaucrats who have no loyalties but to themselves.

Of the 554 positions requiring confirmation, as of Saturday, 473 have no nominee, 35 have been announced but not formally nominated, 24 have been nominated, and just 22 have been confirmed thus far, according to a database put together by the Washington Post and the nonpartisan Partnership for Public Service.

We already know that he and his White House staff have indicated there are a number that he won’t even bother to fill. They are either redundant to not essential to the operation of the department or agency.

Seems like excellent managerial actions to me.

So at the present time, we have a lot fewer bureaucrats in power than we normally have had.

Are you trying to say that this is a bad thing?

[Added later…]

Oh, I see you apparently meant to make the same point I did, that perhaps fewer bureaucrats isn't such a bad thing.

I have no problem with Trump streamlining many of these departments positions, but there does need to be more than that....it might help if the Dems & opposing GOP's would stop trying to block his every move just because they don't like him.
Well aint that just too damn bad, do your job or get out of the way for someone who will

Trump has no experience in government and it shows

Not filling positions with people who actually know what they are doing makes no sense

He's run out of family members, so these posts will probably stay open.

The GOP opposed and stalled everything they possibly could on President Obama. Now the GOP has the House, Senate, and Executive. If things are not getting done, the problems lies solely with the GOP and the orange clown.

Just because democrat obstruction prevented President Trump from filling most positions it doesn't mean they are vacant. You have to assume that Obama holdovers are still loyal to the United States, don't you?

One thing that I came to admire early on about Mr.Trump's presidency—in the private sector, you do the job you were hired to do, you do the job that you're being paid to do, or else you get fired and replaced with someone who will. I hadn't really grasped just how this principle had come to fail to be applied in much of government, until Mr. Trump had to remove a few prominent bureaucrats from office exactly for failing to do their jobs.

85% of the key executive branch positions have yet to be filled, yet the government seems to be running just like it has for the past 8 years.
That says a lot about those positions. Why be in a hurry to fill them, Seems they are not critical to running the government.

There's only a few waiting for confirmation, congress has been on recess twice since Jan 20th. He just hasn't bothered to nominate or no one wants the position's.

Dissolve most of those departments and you'll have a hell of a lot fewer positions to fill. Problem solved. Just sayin'.

GOP Myth

Name an open position that Dems are blocking

What makes you think those departments are effective?

Guess what.....Republicans won the election and get to call the shots
Inability to make government work will only hurt them

Can't wait till they shut Government down next week. Another indication of how inept they are

If the Government gets shutdown it will be Shummers and the dems fault
Just blame it on Chucky

Sometimes that is when government works best

All in-coming Presidents, regardless of party affiliation, has their opposition to whatever they try to do......also regardless of the numbers in the House, Senate and
Executive branch. But you can't put the sole responsibility on GOP, Dems are just as bad even currently with smaller numbers.
Anytime members of government block & stall actions to the point of having government shut-downs because they can't get their heads out of their asses long enough to either come to an agreement &/or compromise, or have in hand a better solution, then they need to step aside. Why? Because they aren't looking out for the people or country's best interest.....but their own, period. This is not a popularity contest, it's a job that effects hundreds of millions of people....including other countries as well.

The government is running just like it has for the last 8 years because the same people have been running it for the last 8 years.

Maybe this is all part of Trump's plan to blame everything on "Obama's shadow government".
