Prepare better for these debates and
...if he must attack Gingrich, hit harder on Newt's Personality and attitude towards other Republicans(How Newt criticized Paul Ryan's budget plan comes to mind)

The highlighted is why I like Newt, agree or disagree, you know what he thinks, and where he stands

No. you know what he wants you to think he thinks.

And that's what you want us to think he thinks.

Opinions aren't facts or truth. On top of that, find a politician that's squeaky clean, never done anything wrong, never told a lie, never took money, is pure as the driven snow, etc., etc., etc., and I'll pass out in shock. THERE ISN'T ONE! We have to pick from what it is we have to pick from, and 99.9% of the time it's a bunch of slick sons a bitches that are out for the money and power, and they'll tell you what ever it is they think will get them elected... and that's ALL OF THEM.

You know that avatar. Hell everybody here knows it.

Pick one and vote, because that's all there is to it.

Sure no one is squeeky clean. But that doesnt mean we need to vote for the dirtiest person in the room.

America does it all the time avatar... case in point: look at who's in the White House now.

Well why dont we do something different this time?

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different reaction.

We are repeating 2008 in the GOP election with John McCain times 100.

I agree, if you're referring to the candidate McCain endorsed... ROMNEY.

Gingrich is far more conservative then either one of them, and I think would turn around the damage done by this radical socialist we have in the White House now.

All this campaign mud slinging and garbage aside, isn't that really what we want?

It's what I want.

Gingrich a progressive. Everything that is bad about Romney, Newt is ten times worse and then he has his own baggage on top of that.

There is not one single accusation that you can make against Romney that can't be made against Newt ten fold.

President Bill Clinton signed DOMA into law... President Obama and Vice President Biden both went on the record as "not supporting gay marriage" either, so I don't really see a difference in what Mitt has expressed in regards to any public policy decisions...

Really, you don't see a difference between Mitt saying he supports a Constitutional amendment to prohibit marriage equality and President Obama who wants to do away with DOMA and refuses to defend it? Really?

Yes, these issues are not really on his agenda as his true agenda is our economy.

I really don't see his presidency making one bit of difference in public policy...

“By adding a definitive victory in New Hampshire to his win in Iowa, Governor Mitt Romney has established himself as a candidate who can unite Republicans and a clear threat to Barack Obama in November,” said R. Clarke Cooper, Log Cabin Republicans Executive Director. “Governor Romney was consistently clear in the debates that he opposes discrimination based on sexual orientation. While he continues to support a constitutional amendment banning marriage equality – a position Log Cabin strongly opposes – he is also on record saying that such an amendment has been tried, rejected, and is unlikely to ever succeed. Romney has also taken a position that the repeal of ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ has been settled, and he would not seek to reinstitute the ban on open service."

Okay, he's not a conservative. A conservative would never support an amendment that denied people rights.

Look, I am not a conservative.

But if you asked me who was the biggest conservative running I would say Rick Santorum. Too bad you do not have his name in the poll, because I would vote for him and declare Ron Paul a libertarian and don't count!

My problem with Santorum is I think he's another war monger. Not exactly sure what Gingrich has up his sleeve as far as all these middle east entanglements, but Santorum emphatically stated he would BOMB Iran, and I'm just not sure that's what we need to do, whether they get a bomb or not. So Santorum lost me there. Paul, he's just to far off in the opposite direction. We need someone in between that will use their head, and I think that's Gingrich.

He's stated in the past that He's a Realpolitician Wilsonian when it comes to foreign policy. Look at Woodrow Wilson's foreign policy and youll have an idea what Newt's is.

Uh... Wilson's foreign policy wasn't realpolitik. Neo-conservatism is a right-wing version of Wilsonian idealism. American examples of realpolitik would be Kissinger on the right and Brzezinski on the left (don't confuse Carter's foreign policy, which was chiefly influenced by Vance's Wilsonian idealism, as a liberal version of realpolitik).

By "public" you mean "social", correct?

He'd end up getting @ 30-35% of the vote at most asswipe. Basically the Repub base are the only people who'd vote for him. He wouldn't even get all the evangelical base because of his suitcases full of social/character screw-ups  Not enough votes to win a General. :clap2:

I don't think giving Paul Ryan a big hug is something you want to do in Florida, where the state seal is two wrinkled hands on a steering wheel. Otherwise, agreed.

Neither.

Not by a long shot.

Are there any true conservatives active in politics these days? I honestly don't know of any.

I'm also still waiting for someone to show me how Newt is conservative.

People are being blinded now because he threw out some red meat. That "rah rah eff the media" stuff is fun but are we going to wake up soon and find ourselves with a cheating, lying, lobbyist who promoted a federal health care mandate, et cetera?

Wow, must suck to be you this week, eh?

I don't care how many women he's banging. I really don't. Tells me he's got some testosterone flowing there.

And when did "lobbyists" become evil? Seems to me the GOP loves their lobbyists for their special interests.

Finally. Gingrich might have toyed with a mandate, but Mittens made one happen.

Take off you hoser. We are conservative you idiot. Get a grip! Get some schreech! Screw your President and those enviro wussies.

Build that pipeline. Grow some balls. I love it. We are more conservative whacko than America.

Life is good.

Oh btw PWI (well Nyquil and beer combo) I am not going to explain any further posts.

You can tell me in the morning.

Totally.

I'm thumbing through catalogs now to figure out what I'm going to wear next year after Obama's 2nd inauguration.

I'm too depressed today to even argue about the states' rights versus federal overreach issue you're in denial of. :eusa_angel:

I don't believe Romney intends to deny anybody their rights...

To the Members of the Log Cabin Club of Massachusetts:

I am writing to thank the Log Cabin Club of Massachusetts for the advice and support you have given me during my campaign for the US Senate and to seek the Club's formal endorsement of my election. The Log Cabin Club has played a vital role in reinvigorating the Republican Party in Massachusetts and your endorsement is important to me because it will provide further confirmation that my campaign and approach to government is consistent with the values and vision of government we share.

I am pleased to have had an opportunity to talk with you and to meet many of you personally during your September meeting. I learned a great deal from those discussions and many thoughtful questions you posed. As a result of our discussions and other interactions with gay and lesbian voters across the state, I am more convinced than ever before that as we seek to establish full equality for America's gay and lesbian citizens, I will provide more effective leadership than my opponent.

Mitt Romney - Gay Marriage

Those were Newt's words not mine. He called himself a "realpolitik Wilsonian".

I don't think either is a true conservative, but these are the choices we've been presented.

I left out Santorum and Paul. I'll concede both are more conservative in their own way than either of the frontrunners...but this poll is targeted between the two frontrunners only.

Mitt is consistently more conservative, but doesn't matter because Newt is not worthy to be the nominee.
