Who's Afraid of Socialism?

No thanks. One need not look any further than europe to see what a travesty it is.

The current consumer credit and debt are based upon the currency of a communistic fiat money Ponzi scheme, not laissez-faire capitalism....Try again.

Who’s Afraid of Socialism? | Open Media Boston

"Capitalism’s incompatibility with majority interests has been reaffirmed by the current economic crisis.

"Earlier, the most severe effects of capitalism had been offset, within the US, by the progressive reforms of the 1930s.

"But capital’s political power was less restrained in this country than it was in the other rich countries.

"Flush with military might and bolstered by a mass right-wing culture of arrogant self-righteousness, US capital launched a withering counterattack against the New Deal legacy, culminating in an almost three-decade orgy of anti-welfare legislation, imperialist aggression, privatization, and deregulation."

Unrestrained profit maximization results in concentrating an enormous amount of surplus capital which can find few safe investments.

"Free market" capitalists turn to highly speculative scams which generate financial bubbles as the real economy continues to be hollowed out and the working class is driven deeper into debt.

Socialism would turn to government for an alternative, but US government is Goldman Sachs regardless of which major party is in control.
Pure socialism or pure capitalism does not work. Show me an example of either that works in the real world.
Our government is a blend of both capitalism and socialism, heavier on capitalism.
The key is took get the balance right.
Pure capitalism does work, but there are numerous people who do everything in their power to destroy it.
Show me a pure capitalist government that has worked in a real world. In a pure capitalist government those who cheat and have no morals more often win. Capitalism with all participants having a moral compass may work, but human being do not all have moral compasses.
The US economy was predominantly capitalist in the late 1800's. The result was the creation of monopolies so companies could not compete and taking advantage of workers.
One of the first to instill capitalist regulations was Teddy roosevelt a Republican
The US was extremely close to pure capitalism until 1914 when the government created the Federal Reserve. During that time it became the biggest and richest economy on planet Earth.

There were no monopolies in the country aside from the ones the government created. You've been brainwashed with Marxist propaganda.
Please, that is the statement of someone who does not know their history. Read your history; Standard Oil, JP Morgan banking, Carnegie Steel.

Pure Marxism is bad, pure capitalism is bad. They are both theories that do not work in the real world.
You hate Marx. You are the equivalent of Marx but on the opposite side. You are what you hate.

There is not a socialistic policy in america. Socialism will never take hold here. It has no support other than a few fringes kooks who are way out there.

None of them were monopolies, moron. They had plenty of competition. There is nothing bad about pure capitalism. It leads to the fastest economic growth possible.

I would be the equivalent of Marx only if I was spouting obvious bullshit.

How hard is it to prosper when you steal land and use slave labor for the first 100 years?

How Slaves Built American Capitalism
The same old failed arguments. The North didn't use slave labor and it thrived. The South, on the other hand, stagnated. That's a irrefutable proof that your theory about slave labor is horseshit.

Who is afraid of Satan?

Even if you aren't afraid (although let's be honest the OP is wetting his pants), not sure it's the best idea to invite him over for a dinner.
Are you saying satan is a capitalist?

Or is satan another lie the rich tell to their timid slaves?

Slavery is running rampant in those 3rd world shitholes which you want to turn our great capitalist nation into.

Only a moron could have not understood my point.

Freedom means also the freedom to make poor financial decisions and try living well beyond your means which accounts for the majority of this problem. I agree that it is a big problem but Socialism is not the cure to high personal debt.

The North thrived on southern, slave cotton.

The first eight decades after American independence saw King Cotton drive the evolution and modernization of the US.

It was through torture and terrorism that slave owners came to dominate the global cotton market, and their northern capitalist brethren grew rich off that evil.

Horseshit. How do you explain the fact that they got rich even faster after slavery ended?

Your favorite religious leader, Mohammed himself was quite the slave master (in addition to having all the other preferable qualities such as child raping). No wonder that your favorite countries are still practicing slavery.

"
Modern slavery is a brutal reality around the world. The 2016 Global Slavery Index published by the Walk Free Foundation estimates that 45.8 million people are in some form of slavery in 167 countries. 58 percent of people in slavery are living in just five countries: India, China, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Uzbekistan.May 31, 2016

Obviously all those countries made of your worst nemesis, white capitalist males.

In theory (on paper) pure capitalism, marxism, socialism, etc is designed to uplift all. Now add the real world that contains myriads of motivational factors, personalities, fixations, etc and every system ultimately becomes corrupted, pure or otherwise.

Who’s afraid of socialism? Everyone that lived in a socialist country. Except the leaders that seem to live a life of luxury while everyone else starves.

That explains the relentless influx of immigrants from Denmark.

From your comrades at HuffingPaintPo....

Denmark: Not As Socialist (Nor As Successful) As You Think

I just knew some wag would bring in a No True Scotsman fallacy. It was just a matter of time, and not that much of it.

Anybody with any common sense or capacity to commit logic is afraid of socialism. All you have to do is look at Venezuela to see why you have to be insane to adopt such economic policies.
There are no billionaire socialists.
