"BRECKENRIDGE — Authorities are calling two small wildland fires that ignited a few hundred feet away from one another arson, after pages of a book, matches and a can of highly flammable bug spray were discovered at the scene."

Arson suspected in Breck wildfire - UPDATE - OutThereColorado.com

NM and CO are under alert that you can't start campfires for fear of igniting a conflagration and here we have a lunatic intentionally trying to ignite vast areas of wilderness.

What would motivate someone to start a wildfire in the middle of dry season?

Arsonists are responsible for many fires in California, too. The nutjobs that start them need to feel power by watching destruction, from their own sick infirmities. :cuckoo:

Anybody that starts a wildfire, intentionally or through carelessness, not only should be charged for the damages and cost of fighting that fire, but if there are deaths or injuries, caused by that fire, be charged for manslaughter in the case of carelessness, second degree murder for the arsonist.

These fires are mostly started by the k00ks who havee every motivation...............inject further angst into the public, "Its just another sign of global warming!!". Sure there is an arsonist here or there but most are likely set by the activist nutters who will stop at nothing to attain their goals.

    Assholes is, as assholes does!

Hey, some people bug every phone line, others cook court cases, others file known false reports, others do the dos-y-dos with members of the opposing political party, to waste time, in an oppressive, costly orgy, of waste, fraud, and abuse, seldom mentioned. But THE HEAT IS ON.

Some other people pretend global climate change doesn't make wildfires into convenient revolutionary media. I would suggest, be neither a media liberal, nor an ostrich-conservative, but rather, consider yourself a PRAGMATIST. Go for it.

The heat needed to smarten up, quit burning people, and reduce its carbon footprint, yesterday, by 11 AM. But nooooooooo.

Maybe it's Fire Department guys who set fires that they can then investigate?

Didn't Al Quaeda just issue a directive that wildfires were a proper method of jihad?

(FOUO) FBI Inspire Magazine Encourages the Use of Wildfires in Jihad

    This is from MAY.

(U//FOUO) The Denver Division of the FBI is releasing this report to raise the awareness of local and state law enforcement partners and public safety officials about the possible threat of wildfires.(U//FOUO) Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) has released issue 9 of its English-language "Inspire" Magazine. There is a portion of the magazine dedicated to attacking theUnited States by starting wildfires. The article instructs the audience to look for two necessaryfactors for a successful wildfire, which are dryness and high winds to help spread the fire.Specific fire conditions that are likely to spread fire quickly are Pinewood, crownfires (where thetrees and branches are close together), and steep slope fires (fire spreads faster going up a slope).(U//FOUO) Inspire magazine lists instructions for igniting a forest fire. The list of requiredmaterials include quick inflammable material (1/3 of a liter of gasoline), and a material with slowand long lasting inflammation (foam). The article continues to instruct the reader about how toprepare an ember bomb, which consists of gasoline soaked foam that is ignited by a timer. Thearticle advises the reader to use thirty ember bombs, placed in the tops of trees about a third intothe forest, opposite the wind.(U//FOUO) Throughout Colorado, conditions are favorable for wildfires.

They've also had a nasty bark beetle infestation in the lodgepole pines...Incredible amounts of standing dead wood.
