Who wants Universal Health care--ran by our government?

It's clear with the Freddie Mac & Fannie Mae disasters (government run programs & government sponsored programs[/])--that we got a good look at how effective the Federal government has been in the mortgage loan business. (We're all paying for this huge bail-out--along with the most recent financial disaster AIG--we "us" had to loan billions too, & we've all got our fingers crossed that they will be able to pay us back).

Now can anyone imagine what happens when the Federal government takes over health care--as Barack Obama is proposing.

GOVERNMENT IS NOT THE SOLUTION--IT'S THE PROBLEM! "Ronald Reagan".

Your thoughts?

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are (or were) private companies owned by stockholders.

This is probably why you vote republican. You don't understand basic facts.

Universal healthcare, as proposed by Obama is not government run.

Hospitals, Doctors, clinics, nurses are private businesses. There in no proposal on the table for government to take over hospitals or make doctors government employees.

All government would do, would be pay the bill. Just like Medicare does. Just like Bush and Cheney's government-paid healthcare does.

I think McCain and Bush are pretty happy with their government-financed healthcare plans.

The United States has the worst quality to cost ratio for medical care in the world!

While we are paying thru the nose for medical care, the medical industry in this country is the most disgusting, sadistic money hungary vultures beyond imagination!

$30,000 to 'revive' an 82 year old woman who had been pronounce dead almost an hour before - nobody asked my family if they thought she should be 'revived'. Unwilling to treat obvious lime disease in children until it's worked it's way into their nervous system and can only be treated by a year of IV treatments - against the recomendations of the leading lime disease experts.

I work for a global corporation and have excellent medical and dental insurance. Since I've had a family I have become disgusted with the American medical industry. The above mentioned incidents are just the beginning.

Any major medical problem in my family and I'll send them to a civilized country for treatment!

I say SOCIALIZE the BASTARDS so that the government can force them into providing QUALITY care!

The core of Obama's plan is to allow people to buy into the Government's own employee heatlhcare plan.

The same plan that McCain, Cheney, Bush, and Ted Kennedy have.

Are you saying that the healthcare plan Bush and McCain have is a horrible socialist experiment gone awry?

Let's ask McCain how he likes his government-financed healthcare plan.

After surviving three bouts of cancer, I'd say he's probably real happy with his government-financed health care.

Wow, 3 bouts with Cancer?

We'd all better consider how the phrase 'President Palin' really sounds to us!

They ought to just take him off the ticket.

51 million Americans have no health care.

Sorry, but they are not all lazy bastards like some of the self centered bastards claim.

We should be embarassed at the number of infant mortalities. For those against abortion, infants are foetuses that lived. Then we don't care about them.

How stupid can some people be that they will let our elected officials get the best care but won't let a program be insituted that would do the same for all of US.

I guess some of the sheeple will follow their leaders whereever they go.

We already have universal healthcare, just a really bad version of it.

Every other Western democracy has a single payer system and they pay HALF per capita what we pay for healthcare. Why? Because a single payer system has inherent cost savings. Americans are being screwed by the lawyers and Big Pharma and the insurance companies.

you are the one getting screwed. either your job sucks or you suck at your job. figure it out and you and your old lady can have healtcare.

So, your contention is that the government-financed healthcare plan McCain and Bush have is a terrible socialist program that doesn't work?

That's Obama's plan. To let americans buy into the same government-financed healthcare plans that Bush and McCain have.

Can we get you on record here, saying that John McCain's healthcare coverage is horrible and socialist?

PS

McCain offering MSAs to fix the current system shows he doesn't know his asshole from a hole in the ground.

i think it works great. i work a real job, i get great healthcare. funny how that works isn't it?

i will never support anyone's healthcare unless they are so disabled they are unable to walk to the mail box every week.

Who wants it?

Simple

Those who find their own responsibilities too hard... those that want someone else to blame, pat them on the back, hand them something, and say it's all better.... envious people who think they are owed something just because someone else has it, whether they earned it or not

You know, DD, that would be cool if it were true. Some of us who have real life experience actually know how ripped off consumers of medical services are in this country.... know that 50% of bankruptcies are due to people being unable to pay for medical care.... know that we get less for our medical buck than people elsewhere... and know that even though we pay more per capita that we get less bang for our buck.

You think it's ok that about 7 million people who had health insurance when bush became president no longer have health insurance?

And you do know that government wouldn't be providing the health CARE, right?

George Bush expanded gov't health care more than any pres since LBJ with the medicare drug program, now costing $60 billion a year and rising. Mac's response has been to go on about earmarks, even though all the earmarks in the budget don't add up to the expansion of medicare that's taken place under W.

So we already have socialized medicine with medicare, medicaid, and SCHIP now accounting for $600 billion (more than the entire DoD budget with Iraq and Afghan included), and the Republicans doing nothing to stop the growth, other than talk about bridges in Alaska that would barely be rounding errors if they were built.

I'm against socialized medicine, and therefore I'm against the GOP. If you're dumb enough to buy the small gov't rhetoric they preach, but never practice, then I feel sorry for you.

Barack Obama wants EVERYONE covered under Universal health care, John McCain wants to open up free markets from state to state, bring in the competition that is so lacking in our medical insurance industry.

So--what are you saying. You're voting for Obama--because you want to "Punish" the GOP, therefore making the situation MUCH worse? Does that make any sense to you?

or course it makes sense to anyone with a functioning brain. people voting for yo-bama are just anti-bush. which is fine, we live in the u.s.a. for a reason, everyone deserves their own vote.

Personally I believe it's every American's responsibility to vote to improve our country, not vote to punish it. (kind of like cutting of your nose in spite of your face.)

you then fall into the category of people with a functioning brain.

So you're doing it out of spite.

I knew you would never admit that McCain's government financed healthcare was a horrid socialist experiment. Because, McCain's government financed healthcare actually works quite well. I bet its even better than yours.

So, stop whining that Obama's healthcare plan is garbage. He's offering anyone who want it, to pay into the Government Employee healthcare plan.

That brings down costs for everyone, because the uninsured we pay for, whether we like it or not.

So, the only reason your oppossed to Obama's plan is spite.

i highly doubt any government ran healthcare is better then what me and my family have. i like that uneducated shot you took at me.

what could be worse than gov spending as a share of gdp rising from 18 to 21 percent, socialized medicine with medicare part d, no child left behind, and a big spending agenda, and then the candidate refusing to cut any big program, just little earmarks which don't add up to a rounding error

I think the deficit will be reduced more with O than Mac, especially when none of the Republicans want to cut any big ticket programs.

Read carefully......EVERYONE IN AMERICA ALREADY HAS UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE.

It's called the emergency room. No one can be turned away.

So in America we wait until people need the most expensive form of healthcare to treat them. And do you know who pays for this extremely expensive healthcare? We all do.

how can it be reduced more then yo-bama wants to introduce many many new government ran programs?
