Who still trusts President Bush after his address? I for one have moved into the "I can no longer defend this man" column. I am not insulting his intelligence, I don't feel he is stupid, I just disagree on giving an unelected official $700 Billion to play with. I get that we can make money with this bailout, but it has to be regulated with a helluva alot of oversight.

Also, with the events of the day, I am officially in the swing vote catagory. I am a huge McCain fan, but frankly as a moderate, Palin scares the hell out of me. I have defended her, but there is alot to be desired in her stances. Also, I am remnded of the words of one the smartest political opperatives I know, James Carville. "Its the economy stupid." The candidate that presents the best economic proposal before November will get my vote.

I was excited that GOP finally nominated my candidate for President, now he stands to lose my vote.

I've got to find out if Jillian wrote his speech. He's SERIOUSLY fearmongering -- his way or we're fucked.

I disagree with him. I don't like his solution. Besides what you mentioned, it gives the government too much control of the private sector.

It's not a fiscal conservative move. More like socialistic. There nothing about this bailout that I like. I like Hillary's moratorium on foreclosures better. That combined with an organization simlar to FDR's New Deal mortgage program would go a helluva lot farther than $700 Billion dollars to a guy that looks like Herman Munster.

Gunny, while admitting I should have been clearer, I side with no one, I was after all defending people like you who are not blind followers on this one. Saying they I meant that I had heard conservatives and republicans alike disagreeing with him before, so this 21 day thing is bullshit. However, if you want to lump into the 'lefties' catagory that shows an assumption on your part. Remember, I am against the lefties as much as the righties and have shown that a number of times.
