ThinkProgress Support For Veterans Shows Sharp Partisan Divide
According to an analysis by the nonpartisan Iraq & Afghanistan Veterans of America Action Fund, Republicans in Congress have dramatically failed to support our troops after they come home.
...Of the 94 elected officials that earned an A or A+ rating from IAVA, 91 were Democrats. Of the 154 officials who received a D or F, 142 were Republicans...
When it actually comes down to it, Republicans just run their mouth about supporting our Troops, Democrats actually back up their talk. See if your representative supports our Troops: IAVA Action Fund Congressional Report Card | IAVA Action

Which side's members gave $600,000 in aid to terrorists, assisted by a US Senator to do so?

More importantly, why haven't they been arrested and charged with treason, because giving aid to an enemy in time of war is actually treason.

Our Government has not supported our troops since WW II. This includes all government. It is ot a republican or Democratic thing.

People here are biased, no matter which siude they are on. Truth is our goverment has no concern at all for out troops.

As a matter of fact, I know of one unit in war zones of the middle east that has no bullets, but do have the weapons, including knives. This information came to me from one of the women soldiers there. Now, that is proof of not supporting our troops. Obama doesn't care, and none have for years. My Dad was a war hero who died trying to get some support from the government. He never got it.

Supporting the troops doesn't mean supporting people who commit crimes during times of war, even if they are in uniform. It also doesn't mean anyone in uniform should be assumed to be guilty because of an accusation. There is a process for sorting that out.

In any case..I think most Americans..no matter which side of the spectrum, deeply appreciates anyone that puts their lives in jeopardy to defend our nation.

I dont like using "the troops" to score cheap political points .
That's pretty much all the left uses them for.

And the right.

"If you don't like the war you clearly don't support the troops." Think of the troops was in danger of replacing "think of the children" as the newest mindless thing to scream at people.

"We support firefighters, but we don't support them putting out fires."

"We support the police, but we don't support them arresting criminals."

Now...do you see how silly it sounds when you say "We support the troops but not their mission"?

Our Armed Forces put their lives in our hands without reservation. They trust those in power to make wise decisions on when armed conflict is required and when it is not. Putting their lives in jeopardy when it is not required is not supporting the troops
