Who is the gov't to tell us that we can't kill bees?

All the honey bees died off around my place.
I had to get a couple of hives just so my stuff would get pollinated.

I ordered the africanized variety. :D

Neonicotinoid pesticides tied to crashing bee populations, 2 studies find

A widely used farm pesticide first introduced in the 1990s has caused significant changes to bee colonies and removing it could be the key factor in restoring nature's army of pollinators, according to two studies released Thursday.

The scientists behind the studies in Europe called for regulators to consider banning the class of chemicals known as neonicotinoid insecticides. In the U.S., the Environmental Protection Agency told msnbc.com that the studies would be incorporated into a review that's currently under way.

You DO realize that without bees, fruits and veggies wouldn't get pollinated, right? And if they don't get pollinated, they don't bear any fruit, and if they don't bear any fruit, then we all starve.

Bees are VITAL to our food source, as well as to plant life in general, as they're the only insects able to do that.

I take it you do not understand how important the bees are to our way of life.

That is not correct. There are many insects that pollinize, including mosquitoes. However, honeybees do it more effectively than most. We have a number of wild bees that pollinate, as well as the bumblebees. But none that will take the place of the honeybee, none that we can move from place to place for our benefit. Losing the honeybee would have a significant impact on our food supply.

I take it that you don't easily recognize satire.

"Oh yeah, it has been conclusively proven beyond any scientific doubt that DDT, used correctly is as safe as baby powder."

Well then put some in your coffee. We are a nation of chemicals. Alot of which have yet to be tested. If you like these chemicals, please volunteer yourself and children for testing by ingesting them.

Those companies who pollute, they should be subjected the highest penalties. Shut em down, I will lead the cheers. That makes me a socialist correct? He He

I gotta confess....the bee thing is all my fault. Twice last year I drove through swarms at 90+ mph. killing thousands.
Is this considered genocide? Are they going to try me for war crimes at the Hague?

Oh God I feel so dirty...SOB!!!:eusa_boohoo:

Some of the EPA people might have a degree in biology but political appointed drones are the ones that are making the decisions which are usually based on political expediency rather than reality. Mites are killing honey bees and the chemical in question might be killing the mites.

"You put baby powder in your coffee? "

Nope. You said DDT is as safe as baby powder. Put your money where your mouth is." Drink up.
