Who is Sandra Fluke?

Everytime Fluke and democrats like her pull money out of our pockets we lose a little freedom. it's just that simple.

Maybe I can get my health insurance to pay for my:

Propecia
Viagara
Facelift
Health Club membership
Groceries
Aspirin
Running shoes

This country is completely insane.

nearly half of approximately 300,000 men who seek renewed sexual vigor via Viagra each week are being fully or partially reimbursed by their health insurers. Additionally, insurers are reimbursing up to 73 percent of impotence patients using less sexy treatments such as Caverject, which requires an injection in the urethra. Medicaid programs in at least 10 states now "guarantee satisfying sex for the impotent poor." States such as Arkansas, Florida and Maryland subsidize 4 to 6 medicinal erections per month, while Utah covers 10 (to help men "approach normality," said Duane Park, Utah’s Medicaid drug utilization reviewer). Viagra seekers in Montana must merely cover a $2 copayment typically required for prescription medications.

This country is fucking insane.

Viagra shouldn't be covered either...

She's a woman with a long history of political activism and was specifically chosen for this reason by the democrats. She's heavily invovled in women's political activism as well as gay/lesbian political activism. Far from the little innocent college student she was introduced as at the beginning. Wtf is 'reproductive justice'?

Meet Sandra Fluke: The woman you didn’t hear at Congress’ contraceptives hearing - The Washington Post

The Democrats did, however, invite one woman to speak: Sandra Fluke, a third-year student at Georgetown Law and past president of the school’s Students for Reproductive Justice group. Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), who chaired the hearing, said the minority party had submitted her name too late to be considered (Democrats contest this). I caught her outside the hearing room, and we spoke about what she would have told the committee.

Fluke came to Georgetown University interested in contraceptive coverage: She researched the Jesuit college’s health plans for students before enrolling, and found that birth control was not included. “I decided I was absolutely not willing to compromise the quality of my education in exchange for my health care,” says Fluke, who has spent the past three years lobbying the administration to change its policy on the issue. The issue got the university president’s office last spring, where Georgetown declined to change its policy.

"Who is Sandra Fluke?"

A tool for the Obama reelection campaign.

The GOP is finally learning some great political campaign strategy....:lmao:

Sandra Fluke is being sold by the left as something she's not. Namely a random co-ed from Georgetown law who found herself mixed up in the latest front of the culture war who was simply looking to make sure needy women had access to birth control. That, of course, is not the case.

As many have already uncovered Sandra Fluke she is, in reality, a 30 year old long time liberal activist who enrolled at Georgetown with the express purpose of fighting for the school to pay for students' birth control. She has been pushing for mandated coverage of contraceptives at Georgetown for at least three years according to the Washington Post.

However, as I discovered today, birth control is not all that Ms. Fluke believes private health insurance must cover. She also, apparently, believes that it is discrimination deserving of legal action if "gender reassignment" surgeries are not covered by employer provided health insurance. She makes these views clear in an article she co-edited with Karen Hu in the Georgetown Journal of Gender and the Law.

Fluke...

a woman being used to make a non-political issue into a major political issue in an election year... someone being used by the DEMs to push an agenda... and someone who is completely misguided in thinking that someone else MUST provide you what you want. That your want and choices matter but nobody else's does

You would sound less hypocritical if you wouldn't eat a Big Mac, supersized fries, chocolate milkshake and smoke a pack of cigarettes and then force everyone in your insurance plan to pay for your "choices" in terms of health care.

But if my employer or chosen plan did not cover something I wanted (like acupuncture for heart palpitations or whatever).. it would be up to me to either pay for whatever treatment myself or take a job or purchase a plan where the coverage I wanted was obtained... I don't get to FORCE someone thru government to take the choice away from my employer what benefits they want to offer

And yet Neo-Cons want "big gubmint" to FORCE a woman to have a baby and FORCE someone to die without dignity (euthanasia) just because it doesn't fit with THEIR "moral values". :eusa_whistle:

And Neo-Cons also want the "big gubmint" to dictate who can get married and what a doctor can or cannot discuss with his or her patient just because THEY are opposed to it. :eusa_whistle:

Damn you're dense....

Nobody is trying to FORCE someone to have a baby... you can choose all you want to use contraception or even NOT to have sex... nobody is being forcibly impregnated....

Now... protecting an unborn life, is no different than protecting any other innocent life from someone willy nilly just eliminating them from existence....

But nice try at a leap

Conservatives would rather have government out of marriage.. and I personally want the freedom of anyone to be with anyone they wish... and to have government's role in marriage strictly limited to things the government is responsible for.. such as taxation, inheritance, and power of attorney

Talk about leaps.

You openly admmit that you favor "big gubmint" sticking its nose into the private lives/decisions of American citizens (and their doctors) and then talk about what a "limited role" it should have.

Now, about those Big Macs, french fries, milk shakes and cigarettes that you "choose" to partake and then have ME pay for your medical treatment.....

Fluke graduated from Cornell University in 2003 and spent five years working for Sanctuary for Families, a New York-based nonprofit aiding victims of domestic violence, where she launched the agency's pilot Program Evaluation Initiative. She co-founded the New York Statewide Coalition for Fair Access to Family Court, which successfully advocated for legislation granting access to civil orders of protection for unmarried victims of domestic violence, including LGBTQ victims and teens. Fluke was also a member of the Manhattan Borough President's Taskforce on Domestic Violence and numerous other New York City and New York State coalitions that successfully advocated for policy improvements impacting victims of domestic violence.[8]

While at Georgetown University Law Center, she worked on issues that involved domestic violence and human trafficking.[9]

What part of the neoconservative philosophy has you assuming that neocons are into forcing women to have babies?

I do??

No... I extend the protection of human life to even those who cannot fend for themselves and who are totally dependent on someone else to survive

You pay??? You have the freedom NOT to participate in whatever health care plan... hell, you can even pool all of your savings together and start one only for people that do not eat fast food.. you have that freedom....

You see.. when a company or organization decides to be nice enough to provide the benefit of health insurance, they make many choices based on price, what they want to offer, or whatever else... I have had companies that even provided pet insurance, and ones that had massage covered as a benefit... I have also had one that did not provide vision or dental.. and it is THEIR FUCKING RIGHT to choose what they will offer and what they will not... and if the reason behind it is price or the reason behind it is because they have a fear or hatred of dentists or because they have a religious belief against brushing your teeth is OF NO CONSEQUENCE....

In your word they MUST give you the benefits you want.. in my world, they have the freedom to choose and you have the freedom to participate or not or you even have the freedom to pay for it your fucking self
