I was in DC one time and was walking down the street with a Muslim acquaintance. He had always presented himself as very devout and truly believed in Sharia.He said he was going to get out of the military and would celebrate by going on the pilgrimage to Mecca. I had never doubted him until the day we were in town and came up to a porno shop and he wanted me to go in and buy him some crotch novels. I have been leery of "devout" Muslims ever since. I've met devout religious idiots who do all sorts.
One bloke I knew, a mosque going, Al Qur'an devotee, got pissed every chance he could get.
Another famous Muslim cleric out here was into 10 year old girls.

However, most Muslims I know, whilst praying as Islam demands, never go over the top in either religion or things Haram.
