It should be safe to say we can apply the behavior to both sides.

It is safe to say that, for the past 50 years, destructive crowd behavior is almost the exclusive province of the Left in this country. (If one has access to television.)

This was coming up in another thread and leading to two conversations.

By and large I think he is correct. Partially because "the establishment" has the power which gets rioted against.

Not that the far right is less dangerous or really better behaved. Perhaps more deliberate on the whole though. National Forest Oregon protest - Google Search It seems they take control of parts of National Forests and threaten to defend themselves if removed. Not a great thing to do, but better than burning down the neighborhood Quick Trip.

Completely different situation. One involves destruction and harming others. The other involves an inconvenience that only ends up harming themselves.

The moral equivalence argument about the Left and the Right is becoming more and more strained. If "the establishment" is the motivator, why haven't the (pre)Trumpers been rioting for the past eight years?

WHEN has "the right" ever rioted ???

The right sends in assassins, not rioters.

Rioting is strictly a "left wing" or a "black" thing.

Better rioters isn't much different from better looters. There is an invisible line separating riot from assembly for the redress of grievance. The latter is a much-valued constitutional right; the former is a criminal act which weakens the effectiveness of our democratic processes.

Riots are conducted by mobs. The definitive work on the nature of the mob has been done by Gustave Le Bon. An excellent summary is available on Wikipedia. Crowd psychology - Wikipedia
