Here is a refresher, for the amnesic right:

Bush: Who knows if he's hiding in some cave or not. We haven't heard from him in a long time. The idea of focusing on one person really indicates to me people don't understand the scope of the mission. Terror is bigger than one person. He's just a person who's been marginalized.... I don't know where he is. I really just don't spend that much time on him, to be honest with you.'

January 28, 2003 – Bush's State of the Union Address includes this 16-word sentence: "The British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa."(Transcript of "State of the Union").

Former Colin Powell Chief of Staff Lawrence Wilkerson told MSNBC’s Ed Schultz Wednesday that President George W. Bush wasn’t interested in bringing Osama bin Laden to justice.

“I don’t think they really wanted to get bin Laden,” Wilkerson said.

“You could be very cynical and say he didn’t want to get him because once they got him the war was over and that left all the political advantage gone,” he added. “Or you could say that they knew that it was almost an impossibility to get him given what they had done to the intelligence and other aspects of the government that you needed to get him. They just about ruined it.”

MSNBC’s The Ed Show, broadcast May 11, 2011.
***********************************************************

Bush USED 9/11/01 for political gain, and warped the facts into justification for his personal war. Blaming Obama for al Qaeda today is akin to blaming Eisenhower for WWII!

And who got Bin Laden, and has decimated the leadership of Al Queda.

The blinders on extremist right now have metal plates blocking the recent past. Bush's brush off of al Qaeda is ignored. Somehow OBAMA detoured into Iraq with needed resources, so that al Qaeda could survive. The BUSH/KING ABDULLAH love fest is also not in their PROGRAMMED memories.

And yet Al Queda it seems was behind the killings in Libya and is playing a pretty good part in all the turmoil in the middle east right now despite the Patton like military brilliance the left wants to bestow on Obama.

We are fighting an asymetrical war with terrorists. If you review the war that Britain fought with Irish terrorists, you will certainly find that decimating the leadership did not stop the violence, just made it a lot less coordinated.

And yet, after 9/11, we never experienced another attack again in 7 years under Bush. Meanwhile, under Obama, we've already experienced several attacks on our embassy's in 3.5 years.

Facts, they are a bitch for you wing-nut idiot liberal dumbocrats....

Bush said in MAY, 2003 al Qaeda was "not a problem anymore". That was at the start of the actual Iraq disaster, after many months of PR. Bush, from Day 1, saw 9/11 as a useful occurrence to force war with IRAQ of all places, though we KNEW there was no nuclear program. Enriching uranium requires more power than the entire country of Iraq could generate.

Bush was in his glory while dressing up like an actual soldier and posing on the flight deck of a REAL ship. The carefully chosen soldiers, none taller than he, were FORCED into the charade. For that alone he should have been removed from office, and prosecuted.

NO OTHER PRESIDENT IN HISTORY HAS SACRIFICED THOUSANDS OF US LIVES, TENS OF THOUSANDS OF MAIMED TROOPS, AND TRILLIONS OF TAXPAYER MONEY FOR A PERSONAL VENDETTA.

Bush kept spending up and kept troops allover, now since Obama is trying to cut both, the islamic state is hoping to capitalize on that.

MORE BUSH/CHENEY* ON THE IRAQI plot of al Qaeda:

Vice President Dick Cheney had told Meet the Press on December 9, 2001, that Iraq was harboring Abdul Rahman Yasin, a suspect in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing,[14] and repeated the statement in another appearance on September 14, 2003, saying "We learned more and more that there was a relationship between Iraq and al-Qaida that stretched back through most of the decade of the '90s, that it involved training, for example, on BW and CW, that al-Qaida sent personnel to Baghdad to get trained on the systems that are involved. The Iraqis providing bomb-making expertise and advice to the al-Qaida organization. We know, for example, in connection with the original World Trade Center bombing in '93 that one of the bombers was Iraqi, returned to Iraq after the attack of '93. And we’ve learned subsequent to that, since we went into Baghdad and got into the intelligence files, that this individual probably also received financing from the Iraqi government as well as safe haven."[15] and once again in an interview with National Public Radio in January, 2004, stating that there was "overwhelming evidence" of a relationship between Saddam and al-Qaeda based on evidence including Iraq's purported harboring of Yasin.[16]
In the same Meet the Press interviews, Cheney implied a connection between Iraq and Mohamed Atta; "The Czech interior minister said today that an Iraqi intelligence officer met with Mohammed Atta, one of the ringleaders of the September 11 terrorists attacks on the United States, just five months before the synchronized hijackings and mass killings were carried out."[14] and "With respect to 9/11, of course, we’ve had the story that’s been public out there. The Czechs alleged that Mohamed Atta, the lead attacker, met in Prague with a senior Iraqi intelligence official five months before the attack, but we’ve never been able to develop any more of that yet either in terms of confirming it or discrediting it. We just don’t know."[15] Czech officials have since backed off of this claim, and even Cheney has since acknowledged that the notion "that the meeting ever took place" has been "pretty well knocked down now."[17] (See Mohamed Atta's alleged Prague connection.)

Easy to understand, Cheney couldn't make a dime off of al Qaeda and Afghanistan, he pulled in millions out of the Iraq war he lobbied for.

Wow! What unabashed wisdom. A complete grasp of the obvious.

The radical Moslems think in decades, and we think in weeks. This war on terror will never end in this century, and in the end, the Moslems will win. Why? Because the West will tire of the constant carnage, and begin giving in to Moslem demands. We don't have the patience necessary for a thousand year war, but the Moslems do. We don't have the stomach for the bloodshed necessary to win the war, but the Moslems do. They have the advantage over the long term.

DIVERTING resources into Iraq WAS giving al Qaeda a PASS for SIX YEARS. They took advantage of Bush's "generosity".

LOL. Buddy boy, it ain't just Arabs and us on this little planet. A bunch of other players that will change the game while those players are watching each other. China and India for a start. And they won't even bother with guns and bombs.

Yes well the resources are not in Iraq anymore and they have not been there for sometime now and we are drawing down resources from Afghanistan in preparation for a withdraw from there. How do you think Al-Qaeda will take advantage of that generosity? There is a saying in Al -Qaeda they have the watches but we have the time a saying they have more than proven they live by.

They won't change the game, and they don't have any better chance of winning the war than we do. Bush had the only workable strategy, and that was to take the war into the Moslem homeland, and force them to kill and maim other Moslems. Obama is in the process of completely backing out of that strategy, and that leaves room for the radical Moslems to work harder at killing us here in our homeland.

al Qaeda took advantage of the gift given by Bush with Bush's war to STAY ALIVE; Bush did all he could to obey his Saudi masters. They lost a competitor and nominal Muslim leader near there theocracy, and gained hundreds of billions in oil money, all the more to finance their countrymen, AL QAEDA.

The Saudis sneered at the piddling 5 billion Bush offered for use of some of their land in Bush's War of course, they already had began the $4.00 a gallon gas dream that has netted them hundreds of billions. One thing is certain, Bush II served his King as only a loyal vassal could.

Osama lived on, many Saudi al Qaeda were allowed to SLIP AWAY, and his king rewarded him with a KISS! Cheney cared only about the millions he was making, but spoke for both of them when he said, AND I QUOTE: "It was WORTH it". A few thousand US lives and a few trillion dollars meant nothing to Cheney. HE CLEANED up when Halliburton cashed in on their half as*ed work in Iraq.

You keep avoiding the points I raise understandable as they conflict with your partisan mindset now you like to keep going backwards to Bush well lets go back a little farther to Clinton and his generosity that being despite multiple attacks against the U.S. during his two terms he did little to nothing to go after Al- Qaeda how do you think they took advantage of that? I think it's a fair bet that some of the 9-11 planning was probably done during that time now lets move up to the my point that you avoided and I'm sure will again what will Al-Qaeda do with the generous drawing down of troops that is already begun and the future withdraw of all troops keep in mind this draw down in Afghanistan began with Obama and if he is reelected the complete withdraw will be with him as will the results whatever they may be.

The attack that killed thousands was 9/11/01. It is proven the Bush kids ignored briefings by Clinton's team, ignored warnings, and forgot about al Qaeda six months after the worst attack on US SOIL since 1812. Pretend if you wish, but Bush never had any intention of stepping on Saudi toes, HE WORSHIPS them. Clinton took action, Bush called off even monitoring suspected al Qaeda operatives in the US, and made a point of avoiding any harm to bin Laden.

The VICHY RIGHT made sure nothing was addressed during Clinton's second term for TWO AND HALF YEARS except their fixation with The Monica Show, the blue dress, and semen stains. They assisted in giving al Qaeda time to plan the attack. When Clinton tried to discuss threats to the country, the robotic CONs yipped "WAG THE DOG"! Instead of censure, the right pushed impeachment for a lie about a personal matter than was NOT perjury.

PERJURY MUST BE MATERIAL TO THE CASE AT BAR; the Jones case claimed coerced sex, the Lewinsky matter was NEVER claimed to be anything BUT consensual. YES, Clinton had his Bar license revoked, just as a driver of commercial vehicles can lose their job for traffic infractions that would mean nothing in other occupations.

FACE REALITY, BUSH IGNORED WARNING AFTER WARNING, ended Clinton's monitoring program, used 9/11 for political gain, AND as an excuse for invading Iraq. al Qaeda was forgotten about by the Bush corporate officers before the 1st anniversary. The PR campaign was for the unrelated war in Iraq. Nobody in the Bush club bothered to PLAN the war, as Bush was delusional enough to think it would be a cakewalk. WE HAVE THE DEATHS, INJURIES, AND DEBT to show this was one of the worst military mistakes in US History.

All the CONS with movie & TV still icons ABOUT America are those with the LEAST desire to actually learn US history, or remember events from more than two weeks ago.

al Qaeda remains because Bush CHOOSE to make Iraq the priority. He has little chance of being remembered kindly in history. Only Buchanan, Pierce and Grant were as lazy, and none of them as slow witted.
