Who does Huntsman's exit from the GOP race help most? I doubt that it helps Romney. Ther more challengers he has, the less chance of a far right candidate emerging. I think his exit it too late to help Santorum or Gingrich.

I'd guess Paul mostly. Where Huntsman's supporters were attracted by his socially liberal and comparatively restrained position on military interventionism, they will most likely move to Paul. If any Huntsman supporters were looking for him to expand government spending, they'll migrate to Romney I'd guess.

Whoever gets the nod, I suspect Huntsman would make an excellent Secretary of State.

Temporarily the Morman. Long term Obama.

You beat me to it!

Huntsman had the best chance of beating Obama and he was forced out. Says a lot about the state of the GOP.

Oh Dont Be Stupid

They'll go back to voting Democrat or sitting out the election with the Paulestinians because someone stole their ball.

Huntsman leaving is good for America since it's just one less RINO in the field. This COULD serve to simplify the problem of dislodging President Obama.

His departure leaves the GOP with just other major RINO who is (sadly) the presumptive GOP Presidential nominee. That's bad enough. But at least, now, there's one less RINO who could take the nod.

The liberal Democratics LOVE the prospect of a President Obama vs. Gov. Romney general election. Either the liberal Democratic wins or the moderately liberal RINO (might as well be a Democratic) wins. And if Romney is seen as less likely to defeat President Obama, so much the better for the liberal Democratics. And Mitt should be seen as the less likely to defeat President Obama since, based on his own political history, HE -- of all the GOP field -- is the least able to authoritatively dispute Obamacare.

Obama.

Huntsman was the least objectionable GOP candidate from a Democratic POV. K-rist! when I heard NPR gushing over the guy, I realized that he was, in their opinion, the best GOPer running..the liberals' republican

Had Huntsman been nominated, I don't doubt he'd have attracted some serious Democratic crossover voters, as well as a fair number of Indies who will probably otherwise vote for Obama.

Now?

Now the choice will be fairly clear.

You can vote for a leaning far rightest Republican or you can vote for Obama.

Huntsman's votes, the few there are, will go to Mitt. The far right continues to isolate and splinter itself, which helps Mitt. The GOP will not support Paul for the nomination, so it is basically over, unless Mitt makes a colossal blunder.

Bull.

With Mitt versus the President, the choice will be to vote for a left-leaning "moderate" RINO or a far left leaning liberal Democratic.

A moderate Republican versus a moderate Democrat.

You, Liability, are the far right RINO.

Wrong again, Fakey. I couldn't be a RINO since I'm not a Republican.

This makes you not just wrong, but glaringly stupid. Well, you already were. But it reconfirms it about you.

And I'm not all that far right. I'm just a conservative.

You, by contrast, are a fraud. You ARE a RATHER DECIDEDLY LEFT-LEANING liberal Democratic and you PRETEND to be a Republican. But you are utterly unconvincing at it.

You haven't fooled anybody in like -- ever. You are so transparently fraudulent you have been and will forever remain a laughingstock.

If ANYbody has less cred than TDM and rderp, it would be you.

True facts!

Fakey WILL be voting for the re-election of the socialist leaning President Obama.

I will be voting against the re-election of President Obama.

Fakey you can not fool anybody.
