The GOP isn't upset that Bin Laden is dead. They are upset that Obama did what they refused to do in 8 years.

Judging from the lack of far right comments. I would think the GOP is the most concerned. Most of them have their hands on their ears, trying desperately to drown out any and all Bin Laden news...it is hilarious!

If the incompetent W had achieved the demise of Bin Laden, they would be kissing his feet, one toe at a time.

Wow, look who is living in their own little dream world.

We conservatives absolutely love hearing in the news that OBL is dead, and the FACT that years of intelligence gathering during the Bush and Obama administrations, from detainees caught during the Bush era, have finally paid off.

It proves that our military is the best. It proves that our interrogation policies worked. And it proves that the progressive liberals who opposed all these policies over all these years were wrong.

You libs are making yourselves look more and more pathetic with each day that passes.
So carry on, dipshit.

The Right is simply trying to diminish President Obama's political gain from this achievement. Unfortunately that is not likely to succeed to any extent; barring any unforeseen catastrophe, President Obama's foreign policy credentials - with mainstream America -

are now all but unassailable. That leaves the GOP politically with nothing but the economy to work with.

It leaves them with "nothing" but what the public seem to consider the foremost concern facing the nation. A few days ago I was watching CNN in the breakroom. They were discussing the President's approval ratings in light of bin Laden's death. Numbers were something like this:

Overall: From 48% to 52%
Terrorism: From 60% to 67%
Economy: Unchanged at 35%

So, even though bin Laden's death definitely leaves Americans more satisfied with Obama on certain issues, their overall satisfaction with him remains unchanged, and his poor performance on the economy seems to be what is dragging him down. The people are more concerned with having no job than they are with terrorism.

The Left is simply trying to inflate President Hussein's political gain from this achievement. Fortunately that is not likely to succeed to any extent; barring any miraculous recovery, the Hussein's disasterous foreign policy credentials are now totally assailable.
That leaves the GOP polically with everything especially the economy to work with.

The Far Right finds itself in a very difficult position. Do they applaud the killing of Bid Laden, as most Americans are doing, and risk the possibility of boosting Obama. Or do they attempt to ignore it, as FOX is beginning to do, and risk looking like idots and out of touch.

Bottom line: Bin Laden is dead on Obama's watch....9/11 happened on W's watch.

Chew on it for a while...

And let's see if the GOP can get itself OFF the probation list by not botching this...It's theirs for the taking. The Statist fruit is ripe for the picking.

I agree with you both. Al-Qaeda is screwed. I expect they are running around like little girls, wondering what Bin Laden may have had in his house that will lead to their demise.

I don't think it's possible to inflate the accomplishment of killing the most hated man in America since Adolf Hitler.

I don't think it's possible to deflate that accomplishment, either.
