Well slick.... nothing like giving a big fuck you to your base of support. Just remember... If you are a Public Employee... you are sooner or later going to be on the Chopping block. Prisons may be the last to be privatized... but they will eventually if you Right wing Fanatics get your way. How would you like to be doing your same job for $13/hour and have less vacation time, lesser benefits and have no Collective Bargaining around to help fight it.... because hey.... they have to make a PROFIT now... and YOU are in the way of that sunshine.

Any Public Employee should be concerned right now. BTW... I work for the Commonwealth of PA in a Mental Retardation Facility. While I don't see stabbings, murders and the kind of hostility that you do... I see my share of violence towards staff that YOU don't have to tolerate. Where I work, we aren't allowed to defend ourselves(rightly so... they aren't legally responsible for their actions). We get folks from the prison system who test at 63-68 IQ's(cutoff for MR? 70), who have been on the street for a long time and know how to fight. But they are horribly victimized in Prison... so they send them to us... after the damage has been done.

So don't tell me about your job... I got one too. I actually love it, because I get to help people for my living.

So, in short... there are many Public Employees that do serious, legitimate work. Not just you.

EDIT: BTW.... "Lefties" are the ones that are on your side in this.... Conservatives are the ones complaining about Public Employees. Perhaps you should check into this... It's the Conservatives who want to cut funding and privatize everything... not the "lefties".
