I guess by that logic it would be OK to point out the fact that Obama's favorite scapegoat didn't either... George Bush didn't do it on his own... Maybe once.....Just once..... I've said for a long time that this wasn't all Bush's fault. My biggest disappointment with Republicans is their absolute refusal to address the Bush tax cuts that were meant to be rescinded if tax revenues fell, which they have. The supply side, cut taxes to the bone program has been tried and proven to be an absolute failure, hence our economic mess. That does not mean we need to raise taxes tenfold to make up the difference, but raising them some for everyone would be prudent. It might just cause investors to have some more confidence that the dollar isn't just going up in smoke, so maybe the economy would get moving again.

While their are some lefties that can make basic distinctions, unfortunately most seem to be college age where they think they know it all and learned it all from their hippy professor......They might figure it out, but they're too brainwashed now.....when they live in the real world, they'll see socialism and government activism for what it is, and attack on freedom.

No, that concept is inaccurate. Ants and bees work together. Humans deal with other humans because it is in their individual financial interests to do so. We purchase the things we get from others, or we don't get them. Each of us working in our own self interest creates an efficient and well stocked marketplace.

We pay for government services, roads and other infrastructure, because that is also in our individual self interest. Government gives us nothing that we have not paid for. In fact we commonly overpay for it.

Well, you might like to know, but in general voters in countries like France and Spain seem to prefer to focus on the economy, the environment, exports and unemployment.

It's interesting that as much as Americans whine about your own government, the US has actually climbed out of recession more effectively than any of the three countries you mention. (At least one of which has had a very conservative government during the recession years).
