Who are the 47% who pay no federal taxes?

Its not true that half the population pays nothing.

Almost 1/2 the adult citizenry pays nothing in federal income tax.... this is true

There's far more that gets paid than federal income tax.

And when you bring up the typical "they pay other taxes", well guess what, so do those who actually do pay federal income tax...

And?

I'm not really getting your point? Are you saying we should raise taxes on the poor?

Yes... there is more than income tax... but we still have a great number that PAYS NO FUCKING FEDERAL INCOME TAX..... so 1/2 are paying X and Y, and the other 1/2 are only paying Y... that is not equal treatment, dumbass

I am saying that the 'poor' should never have had a zero income tax bill to begin with, even if they only had $1 in income for the year.... you have more and more people with a zero bill for federal income tax, and if you raise them from nothing you and your ilk complain.... they wrongly had a zero bill to begin with... like I said before... it is like being in a bowling league where you have to pay dues and you slip thru the cracks and you were not charged dues for a while. Now it is realized that you are getting service without paying like everyone else and you start complaining because you have to pay. YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN GETTING OFF FOR FREE IN THE FIRST PLACE. So it is NOT a RAISE, it is correcting a fucking mistake

Idiot leftist

Speaking of income taxes, is Romney going to show America the rest of his tax returns? How do we know that he is not one of those that does not pay income taxes?
My best friend is one of those Romney victims, he lost a leg at Buna New Guinea in 1942, but he worked for forty years and now draws VA compensation and Social Security. I often wonder who did more for the country Romney or my victim friend?

The rich have loopholes allowing them to legally get out of paying maximum taxes. This is not their fault it is the fault of the code. The lower class gets a majority if not all of their taxes back in the tax return. This is also not their fault it is the fault of the code.

Here is the amazing part...both sides benefit from a broken code, yet the upper class complains that the lower class is abusing a system they didn't come up with. Nothing worse than a whiney rich person complaining they didn't get their percieved share.

Wait, so I'm supposed to feel better that half of the 47 per centers are families trying to exist on $26,400/year or less?

They're the 47% braying that other people don't pay their fair share. That's who they are.

You are part of that 47%.

I'm not. I pay a ton in Federal (and State) income taxes, despite having four little deductions, plus home owners deduction and chartiable deductions, yet I find Romney's comment as arrogant as anything that comes out of your mouth!

If Obama wasn't such a failed President, a divider, socialist and an ideological fool, I might consider him.

According to IRS records, in 2008 more than 51 million taxpayers did not have to pay federal taxes.
and how many of those people got EIC , Got federal tax money up to 8 to 10K a year and did not pay a dime in .. A person I knew in texas made like 20000 a year. But she worked for her fathers company and she made way more ( she told me so) but they only had the IRS know about the 20K.. that year she got a check for 7K. You got that right she got 7K back and did not pay a dime into the system.. Stuff like this needs to change.. I worked for Walmart in the photo lab for 2 years and we knew when the people got their EIC check because thy had one of those HandR block cards with one of those anticipation loans.. You pay like 300 dollars to get it 10 days earlier but they didnt care because they would be bragging they got 9K from the government and these people were NOT rich .. they were buying all kind of gadgets..
The stuff you over hear in walmart LOL

Just who are the 47 percent?

The Tax Policy Center researchers found that about half of the group is basically exempt from federal income taxes because they are low income and also may have a large family.

In a blog released not long after its report, the TPC explained that "a couple with two children earning less than $26,400 will pay no federal income tax this year because their $11,600 standard deduction and four exemptions of $3,700 each reduce their taxable income to zero."

The other half are zeroing out their federal income tax bill with other provisions, such as itemized deductions or the child tax credit. Some are seniors who are living off Social Security.

To be clear, the people in this group are still paying taxes. They are subject to payroll taxes for things like Medicare and Social Security, federal excise taxes on things like gasoline and state and local taxes including sales taxes on items they purchase.

Not everyone who pays no federal income tax is in the lower income brackets. A separate report released last spring by the Internal Revenue Service found more than 35,000 people who made more than $200,000 in 2009 also managed to zero out their tax bills. That report noted that it generally takes a number of different credits and deductions for wealthy people to not pay any federal income taxes.[/QUOTE]

Romney did not say he was talking about all the people who pay no federal income tax. He said that 47 percent of Americans had an entitlement mentality and would vote for Obama no matter what.

While there may be some overlap between those two groups, they are separate demographic groups.

He is saying Obama has a lock on 47 percent of the necessary 51 percent needed to win an election.

The election is therefore determined by the narrow band of swing voters, and that is who he must focus his efforts on capturing. There is no point wasting his time on the 47 percent who are madly in love with Obama.

This also implies that Romney believes he has a lock on his own 47 percent of the vote as well. So the battle will be over the remaining 6 percent.

.

Clinton got 43% in 1992 and 49% in 1996...

They don't need 51% of a Damned thing...

All they need is some Jerk-Off 3rd Party "Conservative" to Prop up so the Idiots on my Side can Garuntee Obama a 2nd Term.

:)

peace...

:)

Everyone needs to Pay Federal Income Tax, if You have income. You think Each having to contribute will have no impact on Scam Programs and Wasteful Government Spending? That's Bullshit. It's also Bullshit to Impose on Others, what You are not willing to do Yourselves. There should be a Minimum Percentage Income Tax For Everyone, that has Income. There is No One in the Low Income Groups that ever Pay out more than they Receive.

Romney thinks you shouldn't have mortgage deduction, EIC, Child tax credts, or charitable deductions and I agree. There should be no tax deductions at all. Everyone should pay a flat tax of 30%.

The Amazing part is that you care more about the millions the lower income get in tax code benefits yet don't seem to mind the billions the upper income earners get.

You are correct. End mortgage, child, charity deductions and the EIC. End carried interest and capital gains writeoffs.

Again, who's fault is it that Romney pays less tax than you? His? No. The federal government.... that would be Obama.

Blaming those who pay less than you is like blaming the victim of crime. Nonsensical.

If he were to become president....yes, it would be his fault

Not only does he take advantage of the code, but he wants it rewritten to be more in his favor

Every fucking wealthy person 'takes advantage' of the code... they pay individuals to lessen their tax bill.... and you say nothing. You say nothing when your own fucking politicians cheat and lie on their tax returns... quite the opposite, you 'mattel doll dems' (pull the string and they'll chatter the standard responses)... you chatter the standard responses.

You're a bunch of fucking borg without a brain between you.

Your rant has nothing to do with the fact that Romney pays a pathetically low tax rate and will do everything in his power to keep it that way

The rich Democrats you rant about may pay the same rates, but are willing to vote to change the disparity

What is amazing is that they are perfectly willing to subsidize the wealthiest 1% who do not need the help

I know we pay federal taxes .. See it every year when we do our taxes ... Says it right on that little line.Only reason I dont have to write out a check for that is because hubby claims 0 all year. Plus we pay tons of taxes for the state of Georgia .. He works in the state of Fla but live here in Georgia so he has to pay taxes on ajob he works in FLA but the Fla residents dont have state taxes so they get more money. I really want to move across the border to save that money but the housing is in crapper we would not be able to sell anyway. Maybe we will rent it out but then we probably have to pay taxes on that too..

We pay tax tags for our cars every year which I think is outrageous in the state of Georgia. Just for my 2007 Sienna alone we pay almost 500.00 dollars a year for the tag. We pay city and county tax , Sale taxes , The list just goes on and on. How many people dont pay anything for the school or roads because they DONT own a house.. You get penalizatize for owning a house while the others reap the awards but you lefties say PAY YOUR FAIR SHARE. Where is their fare share. I dont care if they pay 12.00 a year .. that is is 1.00 a month .. Neighbor across the street has no kids in school but has to pay school taxes .. But the poor they get all kind of hand outs .. They get free food, cheap housing , they get help on their utilities but they sure are wearing name brand clothes and driving BMWs. ( this is in the so called projects in our town)
These are the same people in front of me in the store buying beer , and cigarettes.. they are not to poor for that.. Oh and they are the ones yelling the loudest about the rich not paying enough .. yeah so they can get more free Obama money.
