(When a few people set up some tents and hung out a few signs critical of Mr Mubarak in Tahrir Square in Egypt, Mr Obama all but tripped over himself demanding in his best Lloyd George imitation that "Mr Mubarak, it is time for you to leave! Leave, now!"
When the same set of circumstances began to occur in Libya, American predator drones, F22A Raptors and F35's suddenly, mysteriously appeared in the skies over Benghazi, licketysplit.
But when 1,000's of men, women, and children are getting slaughtered daily in Syria, Iran's client state, with Mr Obama its suddenly "Syria who?" He'd rather engage in a finger wagging contest with Arizona Governor Jan Brewer on the tarmac in her state over some perceived slight in a book she wrote. My, how thin some skins can get! That raging Narcissistic Personality Disorder of his can be mettlesome at times.
And of course who can forget Mr Obama's best imitation of the ostrich practicing the silence is golden rule when the Iranian people erupted in protest against the allegedly rigged re election of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and were subsequently slaughtered in the hundreds by the Irania revolutionary Guards? Is the disparity cojones or secret Mahdi aspirations?)

"BEIRUT (AP) — Fresh violence erupted Friday in the besieged Syrian city of Homs, a day after armed forces loyal to President Bashar Assad barraged residential buildings with mortars and machine-gun fire, killing at least 30 people including a family of women and children, activists said Friday.

The violence began Thursday, but important details were only emerging a day later. Video posted online by activists showed the bodies of five small children, five women of varying ages and a man, all bloodied and piled on beds in what appeared to be an apartment after a building was hit in the Karm el-Zaytoun neighborhood of the city. A narrator said an entire family had been "slaughtered."

The video could not be independently verified.

On Friday, heavy gunfire again hammered the city, which has seen some of the heaviest violence of the 10-month-old uprising against Assad's rule. Activists said at least 11 people were killed across the country, four of them in Homs."

But they have no oil.

Iran doth have plenty. Lack of cojones or Mahdi aspirations for the un evenhanded treatments of the same situations?
It was cojones that led Truman to use the A Bomb. He knew full well he didn't have FDR's political capital to spend endlessly pursuing a politically correct end to the war, although that phrase and concept were nowhere to be found in America's lexicon of the time.

Iran has China and Russia on their side.

Egypt, during the 1957 war had Russia firmly on its side as well. Only by some very delicate negotiations over a very long period of time was the United States able to wean Egypt away from the Soviet breast.
If you were to find yourself in a situation where you wouldn't be able to treat all the players evenly, the "Be careful what you wish for rule" should have been in effect, especially regarding Israel's tenuous safety in the region. Egypt went 75 per cent Islamist in the last election, not a good sign. Iran is jumping for joy at the result, as well as laughing up its sleeve. Libya will likely turn in the same unfortunate direction.
We had, when Mr Obama took office, a few states that were friendly and amenable to the United States wishes in the MidEast as well as one state that had signed a treaty with Israel, no small feat considering the United States had to withstand the assassination of Anwar Sadat, the incessant meetings at Camp David under the auspices and efforts of James Earl Carter and William Jefferson Clinton presiding in order to get there.

"Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall
All the Kings horse and all the King's men couldn't put Humpty Dumpty together again"

"If you break it you own it"

Mr Obama has broken both Libya and Egypt, and they can't be put back together again, at least in conditions that will allow the Middle East any certainty of being peaceful and quiescent.

The question left to answer is whether Mr Obama is more of a drunken bull in a china shop, or is he playing all, the USSR, the USA, China, Egypt, Libya, Iran, Syria, against the middle, with Mr Obama the sole beneficiary in the middle, because after smashing the diplomatic relationships that were in place with Libya and Egypt with little to no thoughts of the consequences, with friends like that, who needs enemies?

And like minded people like yourself.
