Even though the Oprah produced film "Selma" was nominated for Best Picture, Al Sharpton isn't satisfied. He's going to attempt to pull concessions from the powers that be in Hollywood by threatening to us the race-card against them. In his opinion, there weren't enough black nominees. Some are claiming it a whitewash with little or no diversity.

This is political-correctness run amok. Does Sharpton want Affirmative-Action instead of excellence to be a consideration in selecting who the Oscars picks? Is a quota system now the standard when it comes to who gets recognition? He sights a lack of diversity is at play here. Good God!!!!

I counter this BS with; Why must black films always deal with either slavery or civil rights. Are blacks always to be typecast thusly? When is the black community going to move on to showing blacks as fitting into society rather than looking from the outside?

Meanwhile, at the Nigerian "Nollywood" Awards ceremony in 2014, there were no White people to seen, let alone nominated for an award. But, then again, Blacks are the demographic majority, so it stands to reason that the panel would express a preference for nominees that look like them.

That is the Standard Operating Procedure of Affirmative Action, Diversity Rather than Excellence.

Watch what you say about Al........he has major clout with the current administration.

Big Al wants another shakedown, so expect to see a lot more black faces in movies in the next few months.

Re-make of 'Ben-Hur' with an all black cast of thousands in the works..........

Stormtroopers went from being New Zealanders to being blacks. The Stormtroopers are clones from one donor. Who knew he was black.

Wherever there is Black injustice, Reverend Al will be sure to use it to promote himself

The film "Dead Presidents" dealt with a bank robbery precipitated by Vietnam War Veterans. The robbery was precipitated by the vets being denied their benefits and stared an almost entirely Black Cast.

Or you could simply go to the NAACP Image awards wikipedia page and realize that the vast majority of films with Black actors don't have anything to do with slavery or civil rights.

We need an all white Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah remake. Uncle Remus would have been perfect for the late Carroll O'Connor, but perhaps someone outside the box should get the role. Newt Gingrich perhaps.
