I just discovered that only 32% of the residents of my city, Federal Way WA, are American Whites. 10% are Ukrainian, which are white, but I'm not sure they count. Either way, whites are now a minority in this city. Can I start crying racism now?

Welcome to my world. Though I presently reside in a highly populated suburb, Cleveland Ohio is 3 streets away from me. I believe the push for forced racial equality has completely anihilated the city. When there is a mayoral race it is all Dems that run against eachother and often it appears for appointed positions, the color of skin is more important than the quality of the person. Good intentions out weigh ability. The school system is so out of control now that only the poorest of the poor attend it and the superintendant of schools does not call snow days for fear these kids will miss a meal. The city truthfully only has about 20% whites at present. You can point out a street on a map, go ride down that street and see at least 2 houses that have been foreclosed. This is what socialist policies do to strong cities. There is no denying what did this to Cleveland. It was not black people's fault or white people, it was socialism. When you force people to live a way they do not want to live, those with the capability flee toward freedom and those incapable suffer.

Those Ukrainians aren't bad people, but they will leave when they find their feet.

I admit, I used socialism in place of racial preference and forced integration but.. When anyone spoke against these policies they were quickly labeled and ostracized. Very common tactics found in communist countries actually.

Certainly I agree that concepts such as 'affirmative action' are ideologically socialist to some extent, particularly given Stalin himself triumphed the line of 'many peoples, one nation', which is not a million miles away from the concept.

It's just such a shame that concepts such as 'affirmative action' have been well intentioned and genuinely positive, and have no doubt helped a lot of minority kids into colleges etc, but have also come as a part of policies which have ghettoised perfectly decent neighbourhoods.

But reducing everything to colour is not particularly useful - there are plenty of white people we wouldn't want as neighbours either, and plenty of black people who we would want at neighbours.

When I was growing up, I lived one street over from a housing project for mostly welfare recipients. It was good a neighborhood for the most part. We all played sports together, ate lunch at eachother's houses etc... I mean fun times, joking laughing occasional fights and what have ya. Once anything racial came across the tv screen where white people were shitty to blacks white kids in my neighborhood could not walk without looking over their shoulders. Running from the same people who only last week we played a football game with. You're a 15 yr old white kid running from 18-24 yr old black men.

When black guys beat up white people race was never mentioned on the news. This is the truth, not stretched, not made up. I lived it. Unfortunately race is an issue when it comes down to brass tacks on what happened in Cleveland Ohio. Blacks were pawns in a scheme that went bad imho. They were played.

I believe one of the founding fathers said that whenever our government becomes destructive to us, it's our duty to put down that government and install a new one that doesn't work against our interests.

If you know Manifest Destiny then you should know why we decided to take the primary part of the continent for ourselves. Which in most we paid with money (the Louisiana Purchase, the Gadsden Purchase and the Treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo).

I'm always concerned when I hear people talking about "blacks" and "immigrants" in the same thread, and without qualifying their terms.

Let's face it - a great many blacks had little choice in becoming immigrants because they were brought in as slaves, and have now been in America for a couple of hundred years, which is as long as large numbers of Greek, German, Italian, Scandinavian and particularly Asian Americans.

If you want to complain about recent and illegal immigrants, go right ahead, but I suspect far more of them are Hispanic than Black, no?

Firstly, hate crime charges are not necessarily by committed whites against non-whites.

Secondly, the fact that no American Indian signed the Declaration of Independence or were involved in politics at that time was because white men would not allow them to participate in those processes - not purely because they chose not to. And speaking of which - how many slaves do you know who were allowed to participate in politics in that era?

Does this mean slaves did not play a part in the history and development of the USA?

Yes white people are under fire and are subjected to laws that not everyone is subjected to. These hate crime laws need abolished no doubt. The people that are here legally and are citizens have as much right to be heard but not more. If this is along the lines of what u meant then we agree.

And true it was all intelligent white dudes that signed that Declaration I hope we hold on to. This world government thing is scary and threatening.

Actually, a non-white person cannot be charged with a hate crime if he committed a crime against a white person with race a primary or secondary motivator.

Nah, just go live in a white's only compound in Idaho with the rest of your ilk.

It'll be that Whites only paradise you believe you want to live in, and the Ukrainians and other White people who scare you will run the USA.

That or you could just move to Maine where 98.5% of the population is White.

What we up here lack in economic opportunity, we more than make up for in low crime statistics.

Maine is the state with the lowest rates of every type of crime we keep stats on, ya know.

I credit our lack of Ukrainians as not having much to do with that, though.
