Ingraham High School math teacher says he's been wearing the costume for 18 years By LYNSI BURTON, SEATTLEPI.COM STAFF Photo: Snapchat A white Ingraham High School math teacher was placed on paid leave last week after showing up to school on Halloween in a Michael Jordan costume. After an image of Peter Colino spread through the school via Snapchat, a concerned parent reportedly contacted The Strangerwith the picture. "Concerned parents" must be the worst thing about teaching high school. "My intent was to honor Michael Jordan." However, students informed him that his costume was inappropriate cultural appropriation, reports indicate. Colino expressed remorse both to The Stranger and KIRO 7, but he reportedly learned Thursday he was placed on paid administrative leave pending an investigation. According to a letter principal Martin Floe wrote parents: "His behavior is in opposition to Ingraham's values of racial diversity and inclusivity and have impacted our students negatively." Our culture is now officially a joke. Colino was among the 2,000 Seattle teachers who wore a Black Lives Matter T-shirt as part of a districtwide show of solidarity in September. HAHAHAHAHa!! He reportedly met with the school's Black Student Union Thursday and apologized, according to KIRO 7. Colino told KIRO 7 he would no longer wear the Michael Jordan mask. Yet another stupid, weak, spineless white getting eaten by his own pets.
