Does anyone else see this as inherently wrong. This administration is trying to stifle any news organization that disagrees with its policies. WTF!

Today the White House stepped up its attack on Fox News, announcing that the network would no longer be able to conduct interviews with officials as a member of the Press Pool. The Pool is a five-member group consisting of ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox News and NBC organized by the White House Correspondents Association. Its membership is not subject to oversight by the government.

Before an interview with "Pay Czar" Kenneth Feinberg, the administration announced that Fox News would be banned from the press pool. This marks the first time in history that an administration had attempted to ban an entire network from the press pool.

To their credit, the other networks objected. They told the White House that if Fox were banned, none of the other networks would participate. The White House relented, but in an apparent act of petulant retaliation, it restricted each network to a two-minute interview instead of the standard five.
Unprecedented: White House Tries to Ban Fox from Press Pool

Meister, check out this thread: This is fun -- WH TV pool bucks Obama. 104 posts. Hope it makes you feel better.

Socialists/Communists never have and never will support Free Speech. When are more people going to wake up and understand this? Hey they said it themselves..."We Control the Media." Pretty sad stuff.

I don't see any evidence of that in the article linked.

Furthermore, if you're gonna post an obviously partisan source for this, here's one that tells another side to this story:

Adding to the Fox News v. White House feud today is a dust-up over an interview with pay czar Ken Feinberg. Turns out, it was a sort of miscommunication, but the White House adds that if they had left Fox out it would be a case of "Not that there's anything wrong with that!"

The version Fox has pushed all day is that the network was excluded from an interview roundtable with Feinberg yesterday, and that bureau chiefs from ABC, CBS, NBC and CNN came to Fox's defense.

TPMDC dug into it, and here's what happened.

Feinberg did a pen and pad with reporters to brief them on cutting executive compensation. TV correspondents, as they do with everything, asked to get the comments on camera. Treasury officials agreed and made a list of the networks who asked (Fox was not among them).

But logistically, all of the cameras could not get set up in time or with ease for the Feinberg interview, so they opted for a round robin where the networks use one pool camera. Treasury called the White House pool crew and gave them the list of the networks who'd asked for the interview.

The network pool crew noticed Fox wasn't on the list, was told that they hadn't asked and the crew said they needed to be included. Treasury called the White House and asked top Obama adviser Anita Dunn. Dunn said yes and Fox's Major Garrett was among the correspondents to interview Feinberg last night.

Simple as that, we're told, and the networks don't want to be seen as heroes for Fox.

TPMDC spoke with a network bureau chief this afternoon familiar with the situation who was surprised that Fox was portraying the news as networks coming to its rescue.

"If any member had been excluded it would have been same thing, it has nothing to do with Fox or the White House or the substance of the issues," the bureau chief said. "It's all for one and one for all."

A Treasury spokesperson added: "There was no plot to exclude Fox News, and they had the same interview that their competitors did. Much ado about absolutely nothing."

But the White House isn't backing down from its feud with Fox.

"This White House has demonstrated our willingness to exclude Fox News from newsmaking interviews, but yesterday we did not," said White House spokesman Josh Earnest.

An administration source wondered if the networks were annoyed Fox disclosed logistical negotiations since they are treated as off the record, but the bureau chief did not view this in the same light as discussions about, for example, the president going to Iraq.

As for the ongoing battle, Earnest said: "The president and other high ranking officials and people like Ken Feinberg have done interviews with Fox in the past and will do them in the future."

you left out the part where they excluded Fox before they didn't :cuckoo:
Kerry On.

I was reminded yesterday that Bush's dog bit a reporter. How is that for fair and balanced?

Proof that the WH were being assholes about the whole thing is that when FOX wasn't included, they were going to offer the four other reporters 5 minutes each, for a total of 20 minutes. When the media stood together and the WH relented, they decided to punish them all by cutting the interview to 2 minutes each, for a total of 10 minutes. That'll teach 'em.

Who says the WH has a "duty" to spoon-feed anyone, right left or in between? Let the reporters earn their money the old fashioned way instead of just regurgitating what they're fed, we'll all be better off.
That said, the whole WH vs. FOX thing is petty on both sides - yes, including the White House. Whatever happened to acting like grownups?

"what ever happened to acting like grownups?" Now that is the queston of the day.

Maybe those who run this message board might consider droping the "Rep" Power, whatever the hell that is, and who cares anyway, and grade each contributor along a scale much like movies and TV.

Hopey Changey is conducting a calculated War on America at this point. Socialists/Communists always turn on their own people in the end. Some used to laugh at me when i warned about this. Well it's not so funny to me and many many other Americans. Mao Tse Tung himself didn't get absolute Power by being a nice & tolerant guy. He simply murdered anyone who dared to oppose him. Hopey Changey's own Director of Communications was out there recently gushing with admiration for her Hero Mao Tse Tung. Make no mistake about it,this White House is conducting a War against its own people. There is no time to focus and help our kids fighting over in Afghanistan because they are just way too busy focusing on fighting their own War right here at home against their own people. This week it's a War against anyone in the Press who dare to criticize them. Which Americans will they declare War on next week? This woman Anita Dunn was just caught being honest. They really are following the Mao playbook at this point and that should frighten all Americans at this point.

Doesn’t trump do this? Ahhhh busted!

Again, I'm in your head, just how cool is that? 2009 post and you thought about me enough to bring it back.
apples and oranges with regards to your question, Sillybooboo.

Doug Ross? Isn't that a fictional Clooney character? Press Secretary Robert Gibbs word that Fox is not banned from the news pools should be good enough for the crazy left wing (pitchfork and torch carrying) mob that is beginning to look like some sort of Halloween joke.
