Recently a ruckus has been brewing and erupted about the religious right. Something about a duck and homosexuals, you might have heard of it.

Yet in the middle of this media frenzy covering hours of air time which could have been used to inform the public, the NDAA was passed again. The indefinite incarceration of American citizens was affirmed by congress yet again. Citizens are being withheld their fourth amendment rights due to the 'War on Terror'.

How in the world have Americans allowed themselves to be duped into believing the words of one celebrity should matter so much? And how in the world have we allowed for a decade for our freedoms to be so easily trampled? Is this not mind boggling to anyone else?

True, but if people changed the channel when stories like that came on, I assure you networks wouldn't cover them like they do. There's a definite hypocrisy at work when people claim they hate coverage of sex scandals say, but then anyone who covers it gets massive ratings or circulation boosts. Same with the Duck Dynasty flap.

TV news isn't really. It's entertainment. If we want news, turn off the tv and google things. If only because of limited segment time, on-air coverage isn't even 1% of what we should know something about.

O hai. Might you link? I only have your word that these things happened.

The fog of war has been replaced by the fog of peace. The attention span of goldfish now exceeds that of the average American.
