You should be ashamed - for your own ignorance. The UN funded WHO study marked the USA down to 37th because we lacked "fairness of financial contribution". Essentially, our system isn't socialist enough for the America haters at the UN. The quality of care was ranked #1.

The measurement is based on the fraction of a household's capacity to spend (income minus food expenditure) that goes on health care (including tax payments, social insurance, private insurance and out of pocket payments). Colombia was the top-rated country in this category, followed by Luxembourg, Belgium, Djibouti, Denmark, Ireland, Germany, Norway, Japan and Finland.

Colombia achieved top rank because someone with a low income might pay the equivalent of one dollar per year for health care, while a high- income individual pays 7.6 dollars.

Countries judged to have the least fair financing of health systems include Sierra Leone, Myanmar, Brazil, China, Viet Nam, Nepal, Russian Federation, Peru and Cambodia.

The same WHO report that is used to blast the US ALSO ranks it as having the most responsive anywhere. That would be in the Link Zander provided above. That a bunch a lazy slugs don't get good care is actually something good - look at the list of problems (same WHO link) and note the "socialist medicine" negative effect.

You are not being realistic, the only reason ours is so expensive is, we are being raped every time we go to the hospital or the doctor. Why do you think doctors from all over the world are migrating to the USA. Can we spell RIPOFF. The doctors say they will quit practicing. What a joke. What the hell else are they qualified to do. Work at McDonalds. We went through the same thing in Canada. Did they quit? Hell no. They actually eventually came to like the system. It changed from a system of I screw you, and if I mess up you screw me to a system of doctors that really care and patients that are not so

You imbecile, do you not recognize that the ambulance and emergency room are the biggest rip off of the system. So when someone is at the threat of death we pick them us and take them to the emergency room where we then pay thousands of dollars if not tens of thousands. It does not take a genius to figure out this is not the cheapest or best way to go. Basic healthcare with limits on how much the doctors or hospitals can rip us off is definitely better than what we now have thus #37 IN EFFECTIVENESS. It is the indefensible that you are trying to defend. If folks cant understand that a thing like health care should be a right and their greed is more important than human life, It may be that Obama is right. He seems to think that our total system needs to be re-set. and start over from ground 0. We can then find out how well the privileged do on the survival scale.
