Where is Obama and fema in Tenn.

If they're doing OK why are they begging the feds for more money?

I'm not sure why you keep bringing up the number of counties. Do you know how many counties in Louisiana were affected by Katrina?
:clap2:
You sure do have a hard on for Nashville. Whazwrong? Your project not fixed yet?

ZERO, Louisiana doesn't have counties.

:clap2: Way to answer the trick question ... unfortunately it wasn't really intended for someone who lives here and is well aware of the fact.

I saw someone wearing one of those fake orange jumpsuits once that look like prison garb, and it said "New Orleans County Prison" on it. I wanted to punch the guy in the face.

Showing some leadership would be a welcome change

Well tell me Frank, what can he do in Tenn that he can't do in Washington in 2010?

He could work the same miracle the libbies expected Bush to work by showing up in New Orleans. What that is I'm not sure......but Nashville is Obama's Katrina. Complete and utter failure. Racially based also, because Obama's dislike for white people is well documented. Partly by himself.

He knowsw that the people of the great State of Tennessee are too proud to accept a government handout from a socialist.

He doesn't want to insult them

Remember after Katrina when the wingnuts had to tell us about all the white people in Florida who'd been hit by hurricanes and didn't need or want any federal money, because, well, there was just something about them that made them different...

Yep. I remember that.

And have you seen Kenny Chesney or Peyton Manning on MTV saying "Obama hates white people", ala Kanye West? Nope.

And have you seen people in the streets of Nashville looting, raping, murdering? Nope. I've seen desperately poor white folks just saying they'll move on and find a way to recover. But no looting. No killing. And no celebrity white people accusing Obama of being a racist.

Oh, and if Nashville had 3 days prior warning about this flood coming, I'd bet most of the people would have LEFT THE AREA.

But, you know, just subtle differences.

http://nashvillecitypaper.com/content/2010-flood/police-arrest-springfield-couple-looting-case
Metro Police arrested two Springfield, Tenn. men this morning around 10:30 a.m. for stealing items from the front yards of flood victims in Bellevue.

The arrest came just after police arrested three men on charges they were looting in the same neighborhood.

“One of the couples was stealing a lawn mower and the other was trying to get away with some appliances,” said Metro Police Chief Ronal Serpas, who on Thursday agreed to accept the top police job in New Orleans
I guess they just don't take pictures there.

How many rapes were there in New Orleans during Katrina aftermath? How many murders? Numbers please, no anecdotes.

I'm not sure what the 3 day thing is. Katrina hit land on 29 hours after become a cat 4 and only 24 after becoming a cat 5.

And well over 3 days after it was warned that it was likely going to hit as a cat 5.

That is where the three days thing came from.

"Well over"? How well over? Couldn't be that much "well over" considering Katrina wasn't even a damn hurricane till 4 days before the landfall. You telling me they can predict landfall location and intensity the moment the storm becomes a hurricane?

Mine was not meant to be read as a dig against the people of Nashville. To the contrary, they seem to be determined to pick themselves up and rebuild.

You know, sort of what has made America great since the American Revolution?

Since when does "pick themselves up" mean taking handouts from the federal government?

I did not read it that way. However there are some on here who really have a hard on about it. I guess they don't feel they got their fair share!

Nashville is definitely more affluent than most of the surrounding areas. The help is going to 27 counties in TN, not just Nashville. The schools are already back in session, and some of the were full of water up the the roof. That's pretty amazing to me! Volunteers are helping out all over the city, and thanks to them the Farmer's Market is about to be back in service too.

Once it is a tropical storm they are able to create a likely path...they refer to it as the cone of uncertainty....a spread of about 500 miles of shoreline.

Then, they apply basic meterologically models that coincide with oceanic temperatures and geographical locations to determine the likelihood of the size and strength when it makes landfall....all based on where the landfall is.

For nearly a week before it hit, there was concern that if it hit NO, it would likely be a cat 5.

500 miles? So basically your idea is that the entire Gulf Coast should evacuate for 6 months out of the year? Brilliant plan.

For nearly a week before it hit, there was concern that if it hit NO, it would likely be a cat 5.

The storm hadn't even formed as a tropical depression a week before it hit. So now they can predict landfall location, time, and intensity - before the storm even forms, now THAT is fucking AMAZING!

Sorry Tuba. Wont play that game. If what I wrote was too difficult for you to understand, it is not my problem.

You spun what I said to fit your agenda.

Go for it.

I wouldn't think so. I doubt they exist. You can't reopen a school only a few days after its been flooded to the roof. At least, not in the same building.
