Where is Obama and fema in Tenn.

Is it because they are mostly white and didn't vote and probally not supporting him in the 2012 election the reason he is not helping these poor people? He hasn't even been there yet. If this was Bush this would be the top news story in the liberal run media!!!!

I lived in Nashve for 20 years, have been back in my home state only 3 years, and am still VERY tied to Nashville.

Nashville is fine. It is not New Orleans. People there have a work ethic and the government housing projects were vastly unaffected. There have been very few incidents of crime secondary to the flood, people are helping one another out and getting it back together. There is actually some optimism that the economy will get a boost from all the money that is going to be coming in from insurance, grants, etc. for reconstruction.

Most Nashvillians I know don't really want Obama there. Why would they, they are not his constituents. The governor, Phil Bredesen, has secured the needed federal help and the Nashville that I know is just as glad not to have to deal with Obama in additon to the flood. Let it go and let them count their blessings!

Bredesen is a Democrat who endorsed Obama over Hillary in the 2008 primaries.

Obama carried Davidson County (Nashville) with 60% of the vote.

You've either never been near Nashville, or you're a fucking retard.

Well bless your little heart!

With all the options today, I can not understand why there are still folks crying about the liberal run media or about FOX News and conservative talk radio.

He knowsw that the people of the great State of Tennessee are too proud to accept a government handout from a socialist.

He doesn't want to insult them

damage about 1.4 billion and obie is offering 4 million.. in the words of joey biden "that's a big fucking deal" innit? what a dumbazz..

You can expect FEMA to be shelling out more than that, that's just their initial aid. I know this because MOST OF THE FLOOD VICTIMS DID NOT HAVE FLOOD INSURANCE - and I suspect the will need a place to live.http://www.myeyewitnessnews.com/new...-Didnt-Have-Flood/eT8fVfRutkKNUkXXco7nFA.cspx

It's good to see your first concern is the welfare of fellow Americans.

Yeah, me too. I so loved living in Nashville, though. While the flood waters were still high they were having shows and cookouts to raise money for the flood victims. Nashville NEVER lets anything get in the way of a good PARTY! Not even a flood! :clap2:

Now THAT'S what I like to hear! :clap2:

Nashville sounds like a place I need to spend some time in.

My only regret is that I didn't move there sooner. I loved it. Still hang out there every chance I get. It has a small town feel, good schools, great cultural opportunities, and was VERY good to me and my children. I highly recommend Nashville as a place to live OR to visit.

Oh well, then he must be a Fascist/Marxist lieu, of course.

You're just used to the way Republicans throw money away. You assume that's the "right" way. But it's not. Look up the word, "Responsible". It might surprise you.

How the US sent $12bn in cash to Iraq. And watched it vanish | World news | The Guardian

The US flew nearly $12bn in shrink-wrapped $100 bills into Iraq, then distributed the cash with no proper control over who was receiving it and how it was being spent.
The staggering scale of the biggest transfer of cash in the history of the Federal Reserve has been graphically laid bare by a US congressional committee.

Fund raising events within the city itself started last week. My guess is that the city will raise its own funding for most of the damage.

My guess is you're wrong. Most of it will come from insurance companies, state, and federal government.

The losses so far are estimated to be 1.5B

The federal government has pledged 4M.

Nashville swamped with $1.5B damage - BostonHerald.com

The people of Nashville had already raised 1.5M by May 4, waters weren't even receding at the time.

How Can I Help With Relief Efforts? - Nashville News Story - WSMV Nashville

This is only ONE of the events that have already been held. Most homeowners were uninsured for flood damage. Government grants will come nowhere near covering them all. As previously stated I know one entrepreneur who has lost 4M...the total amount pledged by the government. He will most likely sustain the entire loss, as will many people there.
