Where is Bush?

Have you ever read the book "Bias" by Bernald Goldberg?

That's an outstanding book. Goldberg makes an excellent point-It's highly doubtful that these idiots wake up in the morning thinking, "How am I going to slant the news today?" They are simply saying what sounds entirely reasonable to them. All the friends they talk to at their Manhattan cocktail parties agree with them- so it must be right. They are hopelessly out of touch with ordinary Americans, and are in real danger of preaching themselves into irrelevance.

One journalist (I forget her name) actually said this after the 1972 presidential election-one of the most lopsided landslides in American history:

"I can't believe Nixon won. I don't know anybody who voted for him".

I'm not sure if you're referring to me or spillmind, but either way, it's pretty uneccessary. No one is disrespecting the armed forces. If anything, I'm defending the armed forces against media disrespect.

By the way, you know those bumper stickers that say, "If you value

your freedom, thank a vet"? Well, THANK YOU!

No it was not you, but I do apologize anyway. I had a lil too much to drink last night so I get a little tooo opinionated .

Sorry if I offended anyone.:)

NO, I DON'T FIND THAT FUNNY- WHAT ON EARTH MADE YOU THINK THAT. your anger-blinded ignorance is seriously deterring your ability to think straight!

gee, if it would sway my opinion, don't you think it's relevant to disclose? what kind of freaking mystery lives and intentions are you exactly talking about? you trying to say i can't IMAGINE the mentality of the people there? spare me, better yet, spare us all. go beat up a wall or something. your rage is yet to produce ANYTHING productive! sheesh!

if you think censoring every bad image and not showing bodies coming home is in our best national security interest, i say BS!!! the rest of the world watched exactly what happened all over their news networks! don't you find it IRONIC that's it's censored across the board in the very country that led the invasion/occupation????!!! THAT'S WHAT I FOUND FUNNY! next time i'll be more clear for ranting gun toters like yourself.
:p:

Like I said to clumzygrl, I apologize for being combative and mean. I had a few too many and tend to type what I am thinking at that point...Peace and love brother and don't take me so seriously.

If you liked "Bias" musicman, you will love "Arrogance" according to my mom. I'm not surprised at all by that statement that reporter made. In the 2000 election, when it was originally thought Al Gore won,I thought some of the media was going to pee their pants with excitement-it was ridiculous. You could see how excited they were.A lot of the elite media honestly think there is something wrong with you if you do not think like them. IMO, most of them have failed miserably at their jobs because I was always under the impression that a journalist was supposed to be totally fair and balanced. A lot of them have shown their opinion so much that everyone knows what they are. Katie Couric is a good example-awful "journalism".

You're right on the money. I'm convinced that the primary ingredient in rabid liberalism is arrogance. They know better than we do. Conservatives are not only wrong-we're morally deficient. And if they have to lie now and then-well, it's for our own good.

I'll definitely check out "Arrogance".

Don't forget closed minded, old school and just plain uptight - according to MY mother :D

Seriously, the books you mentioned sound pretty good. I'll have to make a note the authors.

My mother used to tease me by saying "I bet your the only kid who's mother really does wear combat boots" She did, and I was. Ahhh dear old mom.

Thanks for the other titles. I'm taking this semester off, I hope to do some reading.

Bush is worry about one thing and that is being re-elected. Bush has been campiagning for re-election since he has been appointed president.

Bush is so removed from our children in the military. Bush don't care that they are dying. Bush sees them as objects doing what they get paid to do. That is to die for Bush and his rich friends to benefit. War on Iraq has nothing to do with the war on terrorism. This war on Iraq has been too costly and America will continue to suffer long after the war on Iraq has ended but I feel the war on Iraq will never end.

Ok, loosen your tinfoil hat! It's bad enough we have to deal with this drivel, I don't wanna see you injure yourself!

Ludicrous opinions and no facts to backup any of your statements make you look silly.

A simple condemnation of the events by W seems appropriate

Yes it does. Other than the fact that if he did all the little pinhead liberals would cry that he is using it as free advertising for his re-election. Your damned if you do, damned if you don't, that's politics for you !

I would prefer the administration utilizes all their efforts in bringing these scumbags to justice, whether that be killing or capturing them. Action speaks louder than words.

Here is your proof and links:

USS Lincoln-photo-op and declared the end of major fighting. Campaign for re-election.

Martin Luther King's Birthday-Bush went to his grave site. Campaign for re-election.

Signing of the abortion bill- photo-op and campaigning for re-election.

Fort campbell, Camp Lejeune, and Thanksgiving in Iraq all photo-ops and campaigning for re-election.

Bush visited the WTC site after 9/11 and he put his arms around a retired firefighter-campaign photo-op, etc.

That's what a president does, unless you can give us bonafide proof that he said it was just campaigning.

You say "Here is your proof and links" - I fail to see either.

You know it was a campaign photo-op. Bush first campaign TV-ad was about 9/11. The families of the victims of 911 had to force him to remove the ad.

Bush endured months and months of Democrats bashing him, more than they bashed Saddam. Bush was a "miserable failure," a "thug," he "betrayed America," he "lied for political gain," he was "responsible for 9/11." Dems cling to anything. Remember the looting after the war? Remember that?

Remember Dems saying the battle for Baghdad would result in urban warfare and HUNDREDS of casualties. Didn't happen. We had just captured Baghdad in 21 days, and then they said "Wait... Iraqis are looting for 48 hours after 3 decades of totalitarian mass murdering rule!"

It's a joke.

Bush hasn't played politics until recently and he needed to expose Kerry's passivity and flip flops. Bush showed a commercial of someone with an American flag and the WTC, showing an upbeat image of the WTC, how we "overcame hard times." And he's blasted by a bunch of WTC victim families. But the media doesn't say they are part of a socialist political group that HATES Bush.

CNN won't air Bush's aids, but they'll bash him about it, then play moveon.org's add that says Bush was responsible for 9/11 and hasn't done much against terrorism.

Yeah, Bush hasn't done much against terrorism...

- 8 of top 10 al-Qaeda leaders dead or captured.
- Taliban gone from Afghanistan.
- Baathists gone from Iraq.
- Pakistan, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, all reforming.
- Syria reforming.
- Inspectors in Iran and North Korea without a shot fired.
- Millions in terror assests cut.
- Camps destroyed.
- Cells and networks dismantled in a worldwide cooperative manhunt.

Yeah, Bush is a terrible leader when it comes to dealing with terrorism, huh, George Soros?

First off, the holiday addresses to the troops and the 9-11 site visit with the shot of him hugging a firefighter had political motivation behind them. They make the president look good. However, think about what else those things do. The most important is that they raise moral. When the leader of the free world shows personal interest in your problem, it makes you feel better and psyches you up for handling said problem. I know it boosted my moral when I was leaving the Naval Academy and a Vice Admiral (3 stars) wanted to talk with me 1 on 1 about my reasons.

Declaring the end of the war is something the president should do. Should he just keep it quiet so we can all just sit back and listen to what's his name proclaim that the U.S. armed forces are nowhere near Baghdad and how the Iraqi army is defeating them? Now that we have that out of the way, what better place to do it than aboard a U.S. Naval vessel. It's close enough to Iraq to be appropriate, yet far enoough from the fighting to be safe (and don't start calling Bush a coward, since chaos would ensue if he was killed).

Could it be that Bush attended MLK's grave out of respect and somebody decided it was a good time to take a picture?

Presidents sign bills. It's part of their job. Other people take pictures of the president doing his job to use later as part of his re-election campaign. That is part of their job. That's life. Deal with it.

Bush is doing his job, and he's campaigning for re-election. The two are not mutually exclusive.

Oh, and as for Fallujah. One of our top military big-wigs (can't remember which one) did make a public statement that we were going into Fallujah and that the action would be "overwhelming." Bush was too busy helping decide how to go into Fallujah to make the address himself. If the president's doing his job, he can't always take time off to be public. I say we park artillery within range set to annihilate anyone leaving, surround the area with tanks, do constant F/A-18, F-16, F-15, F-22, and A-10 flybys with weapons hot and ready, and then throw about a division of infantry in there. That should do the job.
