Where Are The Jobs? No Job Bill Yet.

A bill can inhibit job creation but does not create jobs. That order comes from the entrepreneur.

It's not real difficult to understand that spending trillions does not create jobs.

Follow this thinking:

A legislature approves money for a new project.
Bid are received and one is selected.
The contractor hires employees
The employees buy tool, lunches, pay their rent, buy a car or dish washer
The economy grows.
The restaurant hires a new cook; the car salesman takes his wife to dinner, the dishwasher salesman buys a new fishing pole
And on it goes.

It's horrifying to contemplate that WC teaches impressionable young children.

Republicans have been in the majority for a month. Where were the jobs bills in the last two years? Any idea what the new democrat majority tackled half way into Bush's 2nd term? They held hearings about steriod use in baseball while Fannie Mae was on the verge of collapse.

Everyone.

Please give Whithall some pos rep for this moment of clear comparison.

It's "he" fayzie. Here's some advice. Why don't you read a book sometime and come back with an intelligent argument instead of a schoolyard rant?

Hope it's not math, economics, history, or english.

It would explain the blind faith in unions and government though.

Government approves money for a project. Nothing really needed....but it will create jobs.
Bids are received..one is selected.
Contractor hires employees
Employees dont buy tools as they know it is only ONE project and not a permanent job. So they borrow tools from Joe who was NOT hired.
They do not buy a car as they know the job is temporary. Joe, the unemployed hiy collecting tax dollar unemployment for 2 years gives them a ride.
Buy a dishwasher? Isnt that irresponsible in a recession when all you have is a temporary job?
And in the end? The economy barely grew...tax dollars spent on something that was not necessary...and our debt contines to grow.

Now you are just insulting working class construction workers. But you are right on the fact that they spend money on something that is not necessary. Heck our roads fix themselves right? Just like our public utilities and government buildings. I think its great how our roads just magically clear themselves of snow too.

I thought extending tax cuts for the top 2% would be starting to pay dividend's by now. I mean it's only been 9 years.:eusa_whistle:

Who is referring to fixing roads with general maintenance and plowing snow? That is part of municipal, state and federal budgets.
We are talking about "stimulus" projects....like a new bike path that is smoother than the old one.
And how did I insult construction workers? To the contrary, construction workers are well aware of when they can expect long term or short term employment...and they spend accordingly.

Ummm.. bills do not create jobs, unlike what the DEMs would love you to believe... a bill/law may create a government job... sucking off the taxation tit....

What will create the jobs is less interference by government... not more... and what I anticipate are bills to reduce government spending, reduce the deficit... bills that equalize % burden of taxation to ALL citizen earners.... bills to balance the budget, and bills to reduce the size and scope of government, which will eventually lead to a need for lesser taxation, which will lead to a stronger economy.... leading to more jobs

Loosen the handcuffs of freedom and commerce, and the jobs will follow

Exactly. Get rid of the burdensome regulations off business, defeat ObamaCare...get the jackboot off our necks and commerce flow will be restored.

No need for ANY "job bill' at all.

The stock market is at a 2 year plus high and businesses are reporting record profits.

Road work is temp work
Public utilities should be private.
Government buildings? We are about to dump $100 million to improve security at the UN. That's money out for nothing to gain.
Snow removal? Bad, very bad choice. People died in NY b/c the unions refused to plow the snow.

So....."Job Creation Will Be Our Number One Priority". Words from St. John of Orange. "We Must Make Job Creation Number One". Eric Cannot Do It.

Since the ConJobs, Repugs and Teabaggers have taken over the House, their first priority was suppose to have been job creation. That was, after all the promise they made after Election Day in November.

Yet, so far....

A. One bill that would have redefined rape was taken off the floor.

B. At least three bill that would make drastic cuts to Abortion Rights have been put forward..

C. A Vote to Repeal Health Care passed in the House, and then died in the Senate.

But not one single solitary GODDAMN BILL TO CREATE JOBS. NO ONE FUCKING JOBS BILL.

Yep, "Job Creation Will Our......"

Number One Priority - Nope.

WHERE ARE THE FUCKING JOBS BONER???

The reality is, the Republicans don't want to create jobs, they want to eliminate jobs. Their problem is,

owning up to that fact and getting on with it.

Correct. Republicans dont want to try to create jobs becuase they know the harder government tires, the worse it gets.
So they prefer to leave it up to the private sector.

I don't know if you are a piss poor comedian

or just an lying asshole.

:eusa_think:

The other problem for the GOP congress is that their standard refrain, cut taxes cut taxes cut taxes,

got co-opted by Obama when he (foolishly) agreed to go along with their budget busting tax bill.

Why do you think they're talking about abortion? Because after tax cuts, what else do they have ?

Do you wish to make that argument that if the GOP were able to reduce the size of government as they keep promising,

that that would NOT eliminate jobs??

Let's hear it.

Yeah...those foolish GOPers.....not making evey part of an Ameriucans life something the government should get involved with.
How lazy of them.

Road work still needs to be done. As for the public utilities in my town, I don't see anything that a private company could do better. I agree with you on the UN security though, other countries should pitch in as well because although it is in the US, the use it too. Snow removal being bad? Several years ago the city couldn't afford to plow the streets where I live and several people died. So since its not profitable to plow roads and a private company won't do it. The government has to fill that void.

The private sector is reporting record profits WITHOUT putting on more and more employees.

Why, under those circumstances, would the private sector want to hire more and more people?

Labor is a cost.

Ok then, you tell us what the GOP candidates were talking about when they were talking about jobs jobs jobs, and blaming the Democrats for not focusing on jobs jobs jobs.
