When was Americas hayday?

Looking back through American history, at what point do you feel that America was at the top of it's game, socially, politically, and financially? and why?

a) 1900 - 1925
b) 1926 - 1950
c) 1951 - 1975
d) 1976 - 2000
e) 2001 - present
f) prior to 1900

I would have to say 1976 - 2000. Socially we got to expierience what our Supreme court decided upon to see if it worked the way we intended. Such as Roe VS Wade, and the civil rights legislation of the sixties. Economically I think we didn't do to bad, Carter ran us into some problems but Reagan pulled us out, but his deregulation and handling of the airtraffic controlers was dubious at best. Bush the first and Clinton did well and America was very prosperous and looking back now NAFTA turned out to be a huge mistake. Politically I got to say it was better than now at least, the disagreements between the two parties were there but at least they knew they had to work together to keep us moving forward.

Economically? Probably from the time of the New Deal (after we started climbing out of the Depression), all the way up until 2000.

Why? Because the Bush Jr. tax cuts didn't work.

Depends on who you are...and where you are.

If you are white, then no contest - 1950 - 1975...no other time period even comes close in quality of life and the opportunities for everyone (that is white).

If you are black...1975 - 1995. If you are an honest, hardworking black man or women - civil rights afforded a dramatic increase in opportunities in the pursuit of happiness.
If you are a pathetic lazy black man or women - you got everything for free until Clinton reformed welfare, and the housing projects started to be torned down across the country.

If you are Spanish - 2000 - ?
Now you are the chosen race. Opportunities for you are better than anyone. And if you commit a crime - you get off.
