When life begins at conception, mothers die.

First- it is draconian and has nothing whatsoever to do with the abortion debate in the US. Second 20 days is not a life saving time frame where cancer treatments are concerned- ask any oncologist.

You're right. But take it from a bit of a wider perspective. This is the kind of thing that can and will happen with laws that prioritize the embryo over the mother.

You mean like the kind Vice Presidential Candidate Paul Ryan introduced?

Paul Ryan wants to outlaw abortion in the case of rape or incest.

Who arrests the rape victim, Paul?

women dont matter to some people.

they are only here to incubate babies and the babies are more important than the women.

Once the babies are born half of them are not important becasue they are women.

You can stop abortion the day you invent a machine to incubate the babies outside the womb.

Until then every sane person knows you cant stop abortion.

And out of curiosity, for those who want us to count life at conception, when a miscarriage happens, which is does some 20% of the time, should we treat that as suicide by the fetus? Or homicide by the mother? How long should we lock up the mother? Or would you favour the death penalty?

I just don't understand why "life" means anything to the subject. Yes... It's alive... So what? If that's the measuring stick there are an awfully lot of hypocritical people out there.

How many women will be prosicuted for falling down the stairs when pregnant if you make abortion illegal?

If the mother doesnt matter then women will be jailed for not properly gestating a fetus.

Jailed for not eating right while pregnant.

Jailed for playing sports while pregnant.

Its all about making women less worthy of any freedoms

Right now, we have the technology to transplant embryos into another womb. I asked one time, how many women would be will to give up their embryo to be transplanted into a woman that wanted that child. Everyone of them said no. The truth is, they'd rather have their babies dead than in the hands of someone else. Kind of like the idiots in India who would rather kill their baby girls than put them up for adoption.

What utter bullshit.

If she died 20 days later she never would have made it herself.

a bunch of partisan whacks twisting this into something it's not.

From what CNN is now reporting, it sounds more like she died from complications from when treatment was finally begun. It's difficult to say what difference it would have made at this point. The exact same thing might have happened if treatment had begun immediately. It might not have happened, but treatment might have still failed to save her life. On the other hand, immediate treatment might have still proven effective. It might have been the farther development that caused the adverse reaction. Her body might have been too weak to handle the treatment at that point.

Dumb.

Perfect 10 on the retardation scale.

Stupid does not get much more obvious then the tripe you posted. Natural abortion (miscarriage) is not the issue, never has been.

The issue, to be clear, is the deliberate killing of an unborn human being when a mothers life is not at risk. This article attempted to highlight how in another country, the mothers life, is not even a good reason to deliberately terminate an unborn human beings life. The article failed on two fronts. First, because 20 days is not a game changer for chemo or radiation treatments to save a person from cancer. Second because authorities did end up siding with the mothers need for treatment in a very brief time frame.
