USC had finished #3 in 1976.

The guy looked like Fred Astaire in the pocket.


Saw the game in slow -motion.

Nknew I was seeeing one a the great ND QBs - and that is saying something.

Turned out to be THE BEST QB OF ALL TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Montana was (is) a very shy, self-effacing, unasssuming person.

When he worked at NBC sports after he retired - the host of the NFL pregame show asked: Hi Joe - what are you Doing Here?

Joe replies with a smile and laugh: "Well - the door was open."

Knew sports anchor wasn't his niche.
